The scapolite here is magnanimous, I didn't even bother to weigh it. It was from my personal collection, a first dibs from my friends at @gaiagemsph from years ago. I had made several ambitious settings for the gem but ended up scrapping because they just didn't feel right.

The Ring Bachelor reposted a story one day of a very beautiful ring made by Rachel Jones, and it reminded me of the scapolite I have. I showed the gem to him and planned on the make and material.

I wanted to bezel set it; clean, elevated, geometric. It really didn't need much as the gem already has so much character. However, I encountered technical issues and would much prefer to change directions than risk cracking the gem.

The bezel was already made, but I sawed off the shorter ends and switched to having a half bezel setting. 14kt is tough, so i replaced the remaining bezels to 18kt because i folded and hammered it over the gem. It took me 3 days to do that because I'm a nervous wreck. I've never been so scared shitless in my smithing career. It was some experience.

4 paragraphs long of explaining my anxiety, hahaha! As long as this year's January.
