🫧 How to blow bubble rings 🫧

Here’s how I do it 👇🏼

🐠 Get completely horizontal in the water
🫧 Fill your cheeks with air
👅 Stick your tongue out slightly
💨 Release the air from your cheeks as you pull your tongue back

And there you have it! Bubble rings 🫧

It takes a little practice and you feel a little silly doing it but it’s so satisfying seeing that first perfect ring!

Save this for your next dive and let me know how you get on! 💙

It’s easy to focus on the big stuff when you’re diving, but there’s a whole lot happening when you slow down and look a little closer. 🤿

These are just a few things I saw on my morning dive 📸

Spend the morning with me! ☀️
After two great dives in the morning I head home to edit everything from that day and make some posts for the dive centre socials! Everyday looks different but today was one of them slower days 🤿🐠

It’s easy to forget where our plastic ends up once it leaves our hands.

This piece of plastic had made its way onto one of our coral nurseries, where it could have continued to tangle around the structure and potentially damage the corals growing on it.

Plastic pollution isn’t just about the obvious bottles and bags we see floating at the surface. Smaller pieces, packaging and discarded materials can end up in the ocean too, where they can entangle marine life, damage habitats and break down into microplastics.

The bigger problem is our overconsumption. We can’t keep producing and throwing away plastic at the rate we do and expect the ocean to absorb the consequences.

One piece of plastic removed might feel insignificant, but leaving it there definitely wasn’t going to help. 🌊🤿

Having trouble getting down at the start of your dive? 👀

One of the most common beginner mistakes I see is kicking while trying to descend.

If you’re finning upwards while simultaneously trying to deflate your BCD, you’re basically fighting against yourself!

Instead:

🤿 Deflate your BCD
🦶 Keep your fins still
⬇️ Let your chest tip down and get yourself into a horizontal position
💨 Once you’re descending, add tiny amounts of air to your BCD to fine-tune your buoyancy

Once you get the hang of it, your descents become so much smoother 🙌

Save this for your next dive and give it a try!

I get asked this SO much , Can you sneeze, cough, yawn, etc. while scuba diving?

Yep! You absolutely can 🤿 You just need to make sure you keep your regulator in your mouth and you’re good to go.

And yes you can even say “bless you” underwater You just have to signal it 🤧

Equalising is one of those things where everyone is different 🪸

Some divers might need to equalise every metre, some every few metres and some may need to do it even more frequently. There’s no magic number, the important thing is listening to your body and finding what works for you.

The rule is early and often. 👃🏼

Don’t wait until you feel pressure or discomfort. Start equalising before you need to and keep doing it regularly as you descend.

And remember, never force an equalisation. If you can’t clear your ears, stop your descent, go up a little and try again. If it still isn’t working, call the dive. Your ears are more important than reaching a certain depth! 🤿

So… how many times do you think I equalised on the way to 26m? 👀
