here’s something I wish I knew when I started my healing journey ⤵

as a somatic naturotherapist, I sometimes feel uneasy seeing the well-meaning but misguided advice still circulates in the wellness world..

when I first set out on my healing journey, I was told things like :

✘ 'just think positive' and 'stay in the light; — which only led me to bypass my body and suppress what was actually inside me.
but trauma and emotion don’t dissolve just because we mentally override them... they live in the soma. light work without shadow work is incomplete

✘ 'if you journal, analyze, express and understand it, you’ll be able to move on'
but I found myself looping in the same nervous system patterns and unhealthy coping mechanisms. talk therapy helped me understand why I hurt and how to develop boundaries — but not how to release what was stuck in my body

✘ 'focus on yoga, breathwork, meditation, plant medicine, detox, spiritual philosophy, etc.. and you’ll be free'
and while all these can be powerful tools, and personally helped a lot, nothing truly changed until I addressed what was being held in my body and nervous system

while these practices have value
the truth is:
🗝️ your body holds the key

once I began working with somatic healing in 2018, everything shifted

in just three months, I experienced releases and transformation deeper than anything I’d had in 10+ years of self-development, therapy, energy work and mindset work

the body was never the problem ;
it was the portal 🪞

and now I’ve gathered everything I’ve learned into a virtual program called

soma: somatic integration method

you’ll get the tools, the practices, and the nervous system support, including 1:1 somatic therapy sessions with me — plus the space to integrate it in community

A little message from @rio.de.ki about this workshop! Head over to the link in her bio to sign up! 🤍

in this workshop we gently explore our shadow selves with heart-centred techniques, and
learn tools to heal + integrate the shadow in our daily lives

☽ the science + art of shadow work
☽ guided meditation + journal prompts
☽ lifelong toolkit of shadow work tools

95% of consciousness is unconscious, in the 'shadows'
the shadow side is the part of yourself that you cannot see clearly
dictating our actions, reactions + unseen intentions
the shadow is formed of the conditionings, traumas and repressed emotions accumulated in
the human experience
when left untended, the shadow self-sabotages when transformed,
the shadow becomes an ally
shadow work is like being the personal detective of your life
it is crucial to reclaim your conditionings and transmute your challenges into STRENGTHS
to transfer all that energy to work *for* you, rather than against you
in this way your greatest obstacles
become your greatest assets
