We don’t talk enough about work experiences that change the trajectories of our lives. Soul did that for me and hundreds more, who came from far and wide to celebrate Soul’s 20th anniversary. We remembered the magic, the music, the people, and maybe a little trauma too.

You never know who you’re riding next to. This man -an incredible human and great rider, knows a lot about how Gotham city is run and what we need from a Mayor. Amit, I am honored to know you. You hurried through the front desk after work, clipped in, and got it together on a bike. We sweat and worked it out. We left everything we didn’t need about the day on the floor. We were on a bike, in a room, in the dark , that went nowhere and we went everywhere. #wearenoho #familynight are behind you. Let’s go New York. We deserve a great mayor. It ALL starts with SOUL.

I still remember my very first spin class at Crunch NYC in 1995. The energy, the music, the dim lights—and the girl in the front row. There was something about her strength, her rhythm, her presence. I didn’t know it yet, but that ride would spark a lifelong love affair—with spinning, with the way it made me feel, and with the incredible people I’d meet along the way.
In 2006, I was riding at Zone Hampton, chasing that same high, searching for community and clarity. Then came SoulCycle for me around 2010, and I was all in. The Barn, the East Hampton Studio, Tribeca (remember bands?) , the upper east side, and Short Hills - the candlelight, the power of movement synced with music—it became more than a workout. It became a safe haven.
Spinning has carried me through some of life’s toughest moments—crises, surgeries, loss—and brought me back to myself every time. It’s been a source of healing, strength, and pure joy. I’m so grateful to still be riding strong, often on the podium, led by the very best instructors who inspire me every single time.
This isn’t just fitness. It’s true love. And I’ll keep riding as long as these legs will carry me 💛 so many more amazing instructors I rode a lot of classes with not in pics. Summer ‘24.🌸🌈☀️

Rodney had us opening channels today. It always amazes me how his minimal precise movements create maximal flexibility.

“Imagine before we had freeways, when people cut through forests with machetes to open the way,” he said. Ding! My mind transports me to Bubaque 2019. Tagging along the search for hidden earlier-planted root vegetables… literally clearing the path with his “tarzado.” I’ve since gotten my own tarzado, with my initials and everything. I’ve made it my purpose to be so involved with the Bijagos way of life, that my mind, body and spirit will truly understand, continuously expand… opening pathways previously obscured by all kinds of blinders and distractions.

So today, when Rodney guides us to open the way from sun to earth, crown to feet, I have enough practice to imagine the channels he metaphorically alludes to… blood flow, oxygen, lengthening, twisting, symmetry, balance…. My practice has a long way to go, and in another sense, I’m already there. 💫

Words cannot express how important you are to me and to the countless people you have touched and inspired over the years. Your last class was a testament to the incredible community you created — the room was filled with joy, love and tears. I was sobbing, but I never stopped pedaling.
