Before our trip to Carmel-by-the-Sea, I spent some time looking for the perfect breakfast spot. ☕️🤎 I wanted a place that combined comfort, beautiful surroundings, and, of course, delicious food. That’s how I found Rise + Roam Bakery, and it was exactly what I was looking for! From the charming entrance to the inviting atmosphere inside, I loved every little detail. I ordered the Salmon Toast with coffee, and we also tried some of their delicious pastries. Everything was so good! 🥐 For me, discovering beautiful places and enjoying good food are part of what makes traveling so special. Come along with me for a little work + play staycation in Carmel-by-the-Sea. 🤍🎥 Hi, I’m Ashley… a photographer and content creator in Monterey, CA. My husband and I recently checked into @carmel.retreats , where my main job was to photograph + film the cottage and capture what it actually feels like to spend a slow couples weekend here. And naturally… that meant experiencing Carmel the way a tourist does. 😉 First stop: a little staging shopping around town. 🍷 We grabbed a bottle from @dawnsdreamwinery and picked up a few charcuterie goodies from Nielsen Bros. Market before heading back to style, photograph and film the cottage. But when you create content for several Carmel businesses, one job tends to roll right into another… so we were able to make a whole weekend out of it. We finally tried @nicolascocinadeherencia in Carmel Plaza which has been on our list for a while and then stopped by @missionbistrocarmel to see our friend Shaheen, have dessert, wine, and grab a little fresh content while we were there. The next morning, we walked into town for coffee and quite possibly the best breakfast burrito I’ve ever had at @riseandroambakery . Then it was back to the cottage for another slow day of styling, filming and capturing all those little details that make a place feel special. That evening, we headed to another one of my favorites, @antonandmichel, where I also create social media content. Dinner + a little work, then back to the cottage for evening shots with all the cozy lights on. I can’t even tell you how much fun we really had soaking in Carmel and being walking distance to everything! And yes… we definitely could have stayed a few more nights. Save this for your next Carmel couples getaway or come along for a little behind-the-scenes look at what a content weekend with The Monterey Bucket List actually looks like. 🎥
