That’s a wrap on Island Tides 2026 🩷

Gratitude is a huge understatement for how we’re feeling.

THANK YOU to everyone who helped shape this year’s festival, from our teachers, facilitators, partners, sponsors, photographers, ambassadors, and volunteers, to every single person who spent their weekend with us (whether for one class or twenty).

Endless love to the team that works hard to make this festival happen (@discovercharlottetown + @3eyoga)

Found a teacher you loved this weekend? Visit our Our Teachers page (link in bio) to learn more about them and find their classes year-round.

Until next year 🥹

Many of us spend our days trying to push through stress, overwhelm, anxiety, or exhaustion.

But what if the goal wasn’t to push through? What if it was to better understand what your nervous system is communicating, and learn how to respond with greater awareness, compassion, and skill?

This week, @riseworktherapy founder Sam will be co-facilitating a workshop, Finding Steady Ground: Somatic Practices & Ancient Wisdom for Trying Times at @islandtidesfestival on PEI.

Participants will explore practical tools for nervous system regulation through somatic practices, breath, movement, and insights from Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Join the waitlist @islandtidesfestival or link in bio. ✨

Risework Therapy offers in-person therapy in Halifax and virtual therapy across Canada, helping adults navigate anxiety, burnout, trauma, and nervous system regulation.

Choice and narrative are big parts of trauma recovery - when hard things happen, it’s common to lose a sense of agency, trust in ourselves, or connection to our identity and to our own story.

While we can’t rewrite the past, we can reconnect with our capacity for choice, expression, and meaning-making. This is the heart of what we’ll be doing tomorrow night in my group ‘Reclaim’ @riseworktherapy

We have a few spots left for this group (link in bio) if this piques your interest 🎨🌱 we’d love to have you join

When we think about stories - those told on big screens, around the dinner table, or the ones we tell ourselves - we often imagine them as fixed. As though once something has been written, experienced, or believed, it must remain unchanged.

But stories are constantly being shaped and reshaped through perspective, context, memory, and meaning. Think of a game of telephone, where a single sentence transforms as it moves from person to person. In films adapted from books, the same story can feel entirely different depending on what is highlighted, softened, removed, or reimagined. In many ways, we do this throughout our lives as well.

This in-person workshop at Risework Therapy in Halifax invites us to explore the idea that perhaps our stories are not as fixed as we’ve been taught to believe. Through altered books, collage, and creative exploration, we will reflect on what we might want to reclaim, rewrite, rediscover, or make space for as we move into a new season.

Register at the link in my bio to save your seat ❤️

Over three gatherings, we explored the wisdom of the elements through art, reflection, and shared presence.

Each element offered something different; permission to feel, to transform, to make space, and to return to ground.

What stayed with me most was the openness, care, and insight that emerged when people allowed themselves to show up just as they were.

This work continues to remind me that healing happens in connection, when there is room for safety and expression.

Thank you to everyone who shared this space together. My next group is scheduled for April 25th at Eating Disorders NS from 1-230pm, making 3D models out of recycled materials. Link in bio!
