I type here in a new room, mattress unmade, boxes sprawling everywhere and I couldn’t help but shed some tears when I finally gathered the last of our belongings in my now previous apartment to close out an era, the longest era of mine here in New York. Never lived anywhere else in this gotdam city longer than there. Never loved where I lived for so long than when in that apartment.

What else could I feel except emotional? All it was, was a compact apartment with a sorta high ceiling (and a basement that only had 1 rave). the memories are endless. You can’t hold yourself back when you sit thru albums of images.

So it’s impossible to view these moments without taking in all the wonderful people that color everything so deeply. I’ve said it to friends before but New York has been so enriching partly bc if you know one person you know everyone but admittedly bc I’ve never been able to feel so confident in my skin than anywhere else in the world. And to do so in the comfort of your own home, with the friends you love, because of these friends (I met some of you for the first time in that apt and cross-pollinated new friends all in that same apt!!), well…indebted is how I feel.

All I wanna say is thank you to everyone that made 1B feel so at home for all this time. I feel for the nearly 3 years living there, what made it so special was easily just when people were there; to visit, stay over, to play poker or to party lol so thank you to anyone who step foot inside to share our space. the apartment was as much ours as it was yours (like I’ve said that place was *made* to have ppl over).

Now that there’s no furniture, no object to muffle the sound, every echo I hear is so…loud... I imagine my sofa, my chairs, my tables were able to fit snug in between the memory of timeless conversation. their memory is now reset. The echoes are enough to make me feel heartbreak.
