Ghevar, laden in rich malai and served with a kesari rabdi at the legendary sweet shop Laxmi Misthan Bhandar or LMB. The rabdi disappeared before I could click a picture. Btw, this is only a tiny part of the disc-shaped sweet cake made with flour, drizzled through a sieve into hot oil in a frying pan and soaked in sugar syrup... enough to keep one "sweet" hydrated! ❤️🙌🏼🇮🇳 . Traditionally, ghevar is made during the dry months of July and August around the festivals like Rakshabandhan or Teej, and the dense usage of ghee and sugar in the ghevar helps in normalizing the dryness and acidity of the body associated with the season. Nowadays you will find them available throughout the year and their shelf life can be up to six months. LMB's popularity has reached epic proportions and although we heard mixed reviews on it, some insisting that it's become too touristy, we had an amazing experience. The rich lassis, deliciously crispy onion kachoris and seductive chaats at LMB made up for the fact that we couldn't make it to the other two destinations that were on our list ~ Lassiwala for their lassis or Rawat's for the onion kachoris. We don't feel we missed anything... For one will never know what one misses out on until it's tried. Inshallah on our next visit! . . #selfpaid #sahafamilyvacation #ghevar #traditional #rajasthani #dessert #lmb #laxmimishthanbhandar #joharibazar #jaipur #jaipurdiaries #jaipurlove #rajasthan #rajasthan_diaries #rajasthandiaries #rajasthan_tourism #incredibleindia #indiagram #india_gram #instatravel #travelgram #travel #travelholic #traveller #dubaifoodbloggers #culinarytravel #ishitaunblogged #foodemagdxb #everydayphenomenal #whpuptome Ghevar, laden in rich malai and served with a kesari rabdi at the legendary sweet shop Laxmi Misthan Bhandar or LMB.
