🔵Unfortunately the workshop won’t be happening this July.🔵

We would love to invite you to our second ‘cyanotype meets riso’ workshop at @riso_pop in Amsterdam on July 4th and 5th!

We had so much fun creating, chatting, sharing ideas and experimenting together last year that we decided to organise one again.

Hope you can join us!

💙 Eva & Aafke

It’s almost a month since Metzli was born 🌙 and I wanted to share the process of designing & printing our baby announcement card (geboorte kaartje) with riso ☺️✨

Starting from an original watercolour painting, the goal was to translate the soft colour blends and textures into a Risograph print.

Technically, it was challenging, as it was important to balance 4 Riso colours, colour mixing, and alignment throughout the printing process, all on beautiful Satogami paper. (Thanks riso team that took on the challenge of printing this for me as I recovered! 🙌🏽)

The making of it also took much longer than expected, mostly because my hands became very swollen during the final weeks of pregnancy, 😔making drawing and preparing the files harder than usual. (Shout out to Rodrigo @s.a______r.a who helped me with file prep💜)

~~

Baby announcement cards in the Netherlands are tradition: a small introduction to welcome a new family member and in my opinion a lovely memento of that rollercoaster period 😬

We created these A5 Riso prints a while back for the Fire Horse Open Call 2026. 🔥 🐎

Since the Year of the Fire Horse only rolls around every 60 years, we really wanted to capture that “main character energy” and wild, independent spirit in the design.

It features a horse galloping over traditional seal script characters which we styled to look like a forest, so the “wood” fuels the horse’s fire all year long. 🌳

Huge thanks to the @riso_pop team for printing these up for me so I can finally show them at the market! ✨

The edition is limited to just 30 copies. Pop over to the online shop to read the full story and grab yours. 🐴

#risograph #risoprint #riso #artprint #firehorse A full view of the A5 'The Fire Horse' print centered on a bright yellow background, featuring a dynamic horse galloping over subtle Chinese seal script characters. The artwork is hand-numbered 10/30 and signed at the bottom by the artist.

I’ve always loved playing with paper, so with these colorful 3D flower characters, the OG “Plant Squad” in my mind, I created flat illustrated characters on paper, and then pasted them together to make them stand up and take charge! These were one of my first explorations into characters that mix human and flower characteristics and I love how they came to life. They watch me while I work at my desk and always seem to have a smile to cheer me on. See these and more at my Plant Squad exhibition at @riso_pop studio in Amsterdam, opening Friday 20 March from 6:30p - 9p and on view through 20 April. And make your own plant squad character in risoprinting at my weekend workshops 21-22 March (info on the Riso Pop website, link in their bio). #plantcharacterillustration #flowerpeopleillustration #plantsquadexhibition #jenniferhinesart #characterillustrations
