The most beautiful thing about music is that it truly builds bridges. When you share a moment with someone by sharing a song, so many of the doubts or biases we may carry can completely wash away. Music was made to share emotion through our voices, and that was evident at yesterday’s Detroit x Dearborn Community Block Party.

It was wonderful to see two communities that grew up just minutes away from each other come together and share the most beautiful and joyful parts of their cultures with each other. From music to dance, the people of Detroit and Dearborn got to experience meaningful pieces of each other and continue to strengthen their incomparable and unique bond.

We thank both communities for letting us be a part of it.

With love,

Jawqa ❤️

Highlights from our Throwbacks concert last night 💕

Thank you to everyone who came out, sang along, danced, and showed us so much love and support. Seeing our community come together to celebrate and enjoy music we all know and love is exactly why we do what we do.

And of course, thank you to our amazing director @lubana_al_quntar for her endless work in putting this show together and making this choir what it is.

We’re not done sharing some more special moments from last night. Stay tuned for more!
