What a fun weekend we all had in NYC! @otter_needlepoint had a successful pop-up at @ritasneedlepoint NYC and we couldn’t be more happy for Teri.
As always, we shopped, we laughed, and we ate non-stopped. Can’t wait until our next get-together! #needlepoint #needlepointersofinstagram #ndlpt #ndlptnation #needlepointnation

A few weeks ago I went to NYC for the Together Together tour, and absolutely had to do some needlepoint shopping while I was in the city!

The first stop off of the train was the Penny Linn Flagship store, where I picked up a Harry Styles KISSCO canvas. The store was beautiful and they had so many in-store exclusive designs you can't get online!

The next day I stopped by Rita's Needlepoint (the oldest needlepoint store in the city) and got a Ralph's Coffee canvas round. Highly recommend going to Ralph's if you're in the city, it was such a cute spot.

Let me know if you have any ideas for how I should finish these canvases! 🪩☕️🗽

Happy Finishing Friday! I’ve got a little bit of everything today...stand ups, round and puffy ornaments, and a bag tag. The two standups and the shrimp chip canvases were stitched over the summer and it finally got its capital F finish this week! I hit 100 y’all! (No. 95, 96, 97, 98, 99, 100). #needlepoint #needlepointersofinstagram #ndlpt #needlepointfinishing #needlepointnation

A little NYC canvas crawl with my girl Lexi, visiting from Seattle. 🧵🗽💙 And this NYC girl was SO happy to be back in her old stomping grounds.

Lexi and I recently met through our THREADS Needlepoint Retreat on Nantucket and what a gift it is to curate gatherings that introduce me to so many incredible women who become actual friends. If that’s not community building, I don’t know what is.

Our first stop was @ritasneedlepoint on the Upper East Side, where we had the pleasure of spending time with owner Alyssa Hertzig. Founded in 1973 by Rita Klein, the shop has such wonderful history, a fabulous selection of canvases and threads, and the friendliest staff (be sure to say hi to Kirby).

I have such a soft spot for independent shop owners. My own mother owned a children’s clothing store in Riverdale in the Bronx, where I grew up, and later a beautiful home and gift shop in Naples, FL. Between the founders I’ve met through @necoastalcreative and now the needlepoint world, it all feels wonderfully full circle.

We wrapped up with a bite at an old neighborhood haunt where I spent WAY too many late nights in the ‘90s @dorriansnyc - no shame. 😂 Even better, it’s owned by the family of Vaughn’s (aka @theredthreadatelier) husband. Keeping it all in the needlepoint family.

Consider this your sign to grab your NP bestie, plan a canvas crawl, support your local shops, and make time to connect.

Because the best part of needlepoint isn’t just what we’re stitching. It’s the friendships we’re making along the way. 💙
