POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

My past life as a cheerleader made an appearance at today’s webinar 📣

Crowd pleaser. Turning a mistake into a performance.

First - Sorry to all my coaches for the broken wrists and terrible motion technique

Second - To everyone online who saw my crotch most of the presentation:

I promise I’ll have it all dialed in by next week

As much fun as this was, it reinforced something I’ve been saying all along…

You don’t have to be perfect or polished to share your pitch.

This was my second online/in-person presentation and this is how it started. Then I found out everyone online was staring at my junk for the first 15 minutes.

At first the embarrassment creeps in but then you remember…

It’s ok. Fail forward. Have a good sense of humor. Learn and get better.

BTW - 3 people joined my business today.
Correction - 3 people chose to start their own and me and my team are here to help them.

Moral of the story? Don’t let the fear of being a beginner stop you from putting yourself out there. Turns out people dont really care if you mess up and they’ll like you better and believe you more when you’re real.

Curious about what we’re doing? I’m happy to share and find out if it’s the right fit for you.

What an unexpected surprise we had last weekend in Bakersfield when @chuckliddell was in the crowd and was willing to come backstage so @ritchludke and I could meet him. He was incredibly friendly and even hung around a few minutes to chat!

The first event of the 23-24 season was especially special. It was one of the smoothest events I’ve been part of throughout my career with Varsity. It was the product of 3 years of hard work.

The past few years have been a GRIND. After the pandemic put a heartbreaking end to the 19-20 season, 20-21 involved reinventing how to run a “compliant” event (does that word give anyone else PTSD?😅) and teaching our own staff, plus coaches, athletes, and families how to navigate a new and ever-changing dynamic. For the West in particular, almost all events were virtual.

In the 21-22 season, Varsity All Star transitioned to a regionalized structure, one which provided us the opportunity to build a West Region staff from the ground up. We started with 8 team members and finally secured a (literal) dirt yard to park our trucks. While much of the country returned to relatively normal events, the West was navigating rotational, restrictive Option B events in a new facility each week, while forming a new team and training additional staff. Don’t get me started on V*rtual Aw*rds 😅🙃 #iykyk

The 22-23 season looked more “normal”, but we were still adding new team members and streamlining processes. Reverting to “regular” events (CHAIRS🥹🙌🏼) meant completely different processes from the prior year. We had a temporary warehouse and a one-room office - it felt like we hit the jackpot.

We now finally have our own office and warehouse, are at 24 office staff, and the pride and ownership each team member takes in their position inspires me. The 2nd years are jumping in to mentor the 1st years. I could not be more proud to have helped lay the groundwork for our West Region culture.

I am grateful for the OG 8 and each person who has been added along the way. We had no choice but to build trust with one another and be stronger as a team than we were as individuals. Thank you to our West Region gyms for trusting us and for being patient with us. Your relentless grit was an inspiration, and your athletes and families were my “why” these last few seasons. 🥹

To those don’t know, this is my “framily” and I almost hate to use that word because these people are literally my family. They are the ones that show up. No matter what it is they are there. It meant so much to have you all there today for us and for the bird. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for always showing up 🥹

- missing Damien from this picture, but definitely another that is always there 🥰
