Wrapping up an incredible six days at wheelchair basketball camp, and I’m leaving with so much more than I came with. This week challenged me with intense conditioning, competitive practices, and countless opportunities to learn and grow as both a player and a teammate. Every session pushed me to improve my skills, expand my basketball knowledge, and seek feedback with the goal of getting better every day. I’m extremely grateful to the coaches Steph Wheeler @jake_tyree @grant.pp @lifeonwheels06 @josiep.42 @john.matt_ @rjfitz13 @ritz.crackers01 @alessandrogio_p and @jackbinsfeld for sharing your knowledge, encouragement, and to everyone who made this experience possible. This camp showed me that growth comes from mistakes, and I’m excited to keep building on everything I’ve learned as I continue working toward playing at the next level.

And thank you for making my birthday so special at this camp! It was fun celebrating with friends and teammates.

12 years later I’m saying goodbye to basketball! I have had such an amazing experience with everyone. I am so thankful for @balellak and @coopo1 for all the support I have gotten from them. Many hours of driving to tournaments and watching games. I have made so many friends for a lifetime from this sport. Also @dasasports thank you for supporting my journey on this team! I can finally say Mia Balella #12 is signing off on the DASA Rolling Rams!
