Ready. Set. Fight. 💥

Last night I got to attend the Australian premiere of 'Street Fighter'. Walking the red carpet was a blast! @alexvolkanovski (who plays Joe) was in attendance, everyone got free @gongcha_australia drinks, and there were arcade machines with classic 'Street Fighter' games. 🕹

As someone who played 'Street Fighter II: The World Warrior' as a kid, I appreciated all the nods to the video games that were included in the film. It was a joy to see characters use their signature moves—such as Ryu's Hadoken and Ken's Shoryuken—and the car bonus stage reference cracked me up. 🚗

The movie works when it leans into the absurdity of the franchise. The first two-thirds of the film are filled with crowd-pleasing action scenes, but things fall apart during the third act. It's also disappointing that the filmmakers decided to forgo a satisfying conclusion in favour of setting up a sequel. 🎬

Overall, 'Street Fighter' is a knockout piece of entertainment with a messy story and incoherent plot. Fans of the fighting game series will find things to love even though the film's elements don't result in a winning combo. 🥊

Many thanks to @paramountau for having me! 😊

It always starts with a few very questionable sketches and a lot of hand waving🐒 Shout out to @novakhang.cine who can look at my scratches and immediately see the shot I’m talking about, bro just read my minddddd 🙏🏻

One of my favourite parts of the process is seeing an idea slowly find its shape. Truly healing❣️

Big love to my talented crew for turning chaotic lines into something real 🤍
