A Murder In 8 Cocktails by the lovely @kellymullenauthor 🍸

River and Izzy are always raving about Kelly’s books but this one even had the recipe for every cocktail, so you can get into the book on an even deeper level. It’s like you’re having a drink with the characters. Love this extra element! 🍹

Something good is going to happen….

Wow! What an incredible day at @capitalcrime1, my first time of attending and it was such a brilliant day.

I felt like a huge kid, full of energy and so excited to be there 😂 so apologies to those around me 🥴

So many highlights of the day, but for me the biggest highlight was meeting people- mainly @joebella_p_reads and @hannahreads.26 @somethingaboutbooks23 the most lovely people that I’ve talked to for ages, but this was a RL meet 🥰 AND winning the new @lianechildauthor book on the HQ spinny wheel 🤭

Was incredible to speak to so many amazing authors @sabinedurrant @t_h_murdock @hannahreads.26 @rebeccahardyauthor @tariqashkanani @markedwardsauthor @gemmarogersauthor @monawgloss.author and also high Jack a couple of others 🤭 @hollyseddonauthor who I sat with on a panel and @andreamaraauthor who I love and found in the bar area 🤭

Also was brilliant to meet up again with @katiethebookishworm @els_book.shelf @thrillerswithnic @far_away_in_thriller_land and meet @cynths.corner @mrsbookburnee @booklover_nix @helenlovesbooks @lynn.loves.books too!

A big shout out to @capitalcrime1 all the staff were lovely I loved meeting @riverlovesreading and @your_reading_friend and @gemmarogersauthor you made the event even more enjoyable 💕

Swipe through, the end is the books that I came away with and the ones I took to be signed 🤭

Capital Crime 2026

Another year at Capital Crime, and once again it was absolutely amazing.

With sore feet, sore facial muscles from smiling so much, a slightly sore bank account, and a very happy bookshelf, I can honestly say I had a fantastic time.

The compliments, kindness, and support from everyone I met throughout the event were incredible. Every conversation, recommendation, and shared love of books made the weekend even more special.

A huge thank you to the entire Capital Crime team for putting on such an outstanding event year after year.

To the authors, readers, publishers, and even the people who spotted our T-shirts and stopped to ask, “What is Capital Crime?” and “Can I still get tickets?” — you all helped make the atmosphere so welcoming and unforgettable.

Already counting down to next year! Get your early bird tickets now.

Pre Capital Crime 2026 Stack 📚
My shelf is filled with this years authors.

It’s Capital Crime Book Festival time again!

From Thursday 18th to Saturday 20th June, crime fiction fans will be gathering for three days packed with brilliant thriller writers, fascinating panels, and plenty of bookish conversations.

If you haven’t got your tickets yet, what are you waiting for?

I’ll be volunteering again this year, so if you’re attending, please come and say hello. And if you’re coming on your own and feeling a little nervous, don’t worry, come and find any of us in the red t shirts and we will happily help you settle in. One of the best things about Capital Crime is how welcoming the community is.

Who else is going? 📖🖤

Never see this series being reviewed..so well written by @jdkirkbooks. Set in Scotland, we follow DCI Jack Logan and his team each have a great character that you develop a deeper connection with in every book ,you feel like you are with them as part of the team. Picture shows first six but there are over 20 in the series. If bad language is your trigger then don't read these! I would honestly read a takeaway menu if @jdkirkbooks wrote it. This author needs more praise. His stand alone books are fabulous also...if you haven't realised I am a huge fan 😃
