A little golden hour escape by the river 💫

Morgan and Jack saved their private vows for later in the day, giving us the perfect excuse to sneak away for photos and a quiet moment together.

One of my favorite parts of their day 🥹🤍

A wedding might be the only time all these versions of your life exist in the same room.

Your favorite people from every chapter, all under one roof.

The ones who raised you.
The ones who grew up beside you.
The ones who met you somewhere along the way and stayed.

Look around the room. These are the people who helped make you who you are.

I know you hired me to photograph the two of you.

But I’m also watching your people.

The way they look at you. The way they look at each other. The tears, the pride, the friendships, the little moments happening just outside of yours.

Because they’re part of your story, too.

And someday, the photos of them might be some of the ones you’re most grateful to have.

I’ve photographed enough weddings to know that every one is completely different.

But there’s one moment I see almost every time.

I call it the reception shift.

It happens sometime after dinner, after the speeches, after the formalities are finished.

The months of planning are over. The nerves are gone. The pressure to make sure everything goes right finally disappears.

And the whole room changes.

Ties loosen. Shoes come off. Drinks get poured. The dance floor fills.

For the first time all day, there’s nowhere else anyone needs to be.

Just you, your favorite people, and permission to completely let go.

A wedding day opinion I’ll always stand behind: you should get to go to your own cocktail hour.

You chose the drinks. You obsessed over the little details. You invited your favorite people from every corner of your life to be in one place.

And then somehow, we normalized couples missing the entire thing for photos.

I’d rather build a timeline that gives us the space to create beautiful portraits and lets you actually experience the day you spent months planning.

Grab a cocktail. Hug the people who came to celebrate you. Notice the details. Be part of the conversations and the energy happening around you.

Some of my favorite photographs come from these in-between parts of a wedding day, when nothing needs to be orchestrated and everyone is simply there, together.

THREE BRIDES. THREE DAYS. 🤍

14 makeups.
15 hours + 45 minutes of glam.
118 miles driven to and from venues.
Hundreds of brushes cleaned, dirtied, cleaned again… and somehow already waiting to be cleaned AGAIN. 😂
Hundreds of giggles, smiles, stories, deep breaths and beautiful little moments.

And one very grateful makeup artist.

Behind all those numbers are three incredible brides who trusted me to be part of one of the biggest days of their lives — and bridal parties, moms, sisters, best friends and loved ones I got to know along the way.

That part will never be lost on me.

I feel so incredibly lucky to do what I do. To be welcomed into these intimate wedding mornings, to help someone feel beautiful, to bring a little calm to the chaos, and to witness so much love up close.

Three weddings down, hundreds of brushes to wash… and one VERY full heart. 🤍 Thank you @haley.lowry @meg_senk and @megan_riha for being such beautiful brides inside and out!!!!! OMGRACIOUS YOU ALL ARE MARRIED!!!!!!

Devin & JB, what an absolutely stunning couple.

I’m still smiling thinking about your day and how grateful and honored I felt to be a part of it. From the moment I arrived, the love and energy between you two was impossible to miss.

The whole celebration was packed with the best kind of fun and unforgettable moments…JB pulling off that surprise haircut for Devin right before the reception to watching you both toss hats to every single guest during the dance party...your wedding was awesome! Huge shoutout to the incredible vendors who helped make this beautiful wedding possible:

Your wedding day is about celebrating with the ones you love most—and for these two, that absolutely meant Archer. 🐾🤍 Seeing them share their first look with their best boy by their side was one of the sweetest moments of the day.
