After Isaias, Chimney Rock is still as gorgeous as ever! We were thankful to only experience isolated flash flooding and no power outages in the Village!

Happy North Carolina day! We can’t think of a better way to celebrate the Old North State than by sharing what @nc_governor had to say about our new taproom in @chimneyrockvillage . Did you know @chimneyrocknc is North Carolina’s most visited state park? Anyone who’s visited can see why the stunning natural beauty of this valley keeps visitors coming back again and again. Not even the biggest storm in living memory could keep this incredible part of our state down forever. The strength of this community and the support of people near and far for the rebuilding taking place here continue to be an inspiration to us every day. We’re so incredibly proud to be the first new business joining the village since reopening after Helene and can’t wait to see all the future holds for this special place. Thank you Governor Josh Stein for your visit and for all the wonderful things you had to say about not just Whistle Hop but about this extraordinary community as a whole. We’re honored every day to be working hard to become part of what it means to be #chimneyrockstrong ❤️🙏⛰️

Can you believe this is North Carolina? ⛰️

Tucked into the mountains of Western North Carolina, Lake Lure and Chimney Rock are home to some of the most beautiful views, small businesses, outdoor adventures, and communities in the region.

This weekend marks two years since Hurricane Helene devastated communities across the Southern Appalachians.

We traveled here to meet with Governor Josh Stein and learn more about the recovery happening across Western North Carolina. And while there is still a long road ahead, these communities are rebuilding, businesses are welcoming visitors, and tourism continues to play an important role in the recovery!

And one of the simplest ways we can help? VISIT!!!
✨Stay in the locally owned hotels and inns.
✨Eat at the restaurants.
✨Shop with the small businesses.

On our trip down from Virginia, we supported a few local stores including buying boots from @footsloggersoutdoors in West Jefferson and picking out my dress from @hymn_nc in Blowing Rock.

At Lake Lure, we stayed @thelodgeonlakelure and dined with @appalachiarestaurant . The next day we took a morning stroll at Morse Park, before heading into the Chimney Rock Village. I loved browsing the gems and jewelry at Sacred Chakrah! Shortly after, we grabbed lunch @riverwatchgrill and the burgers were 10/10!

I appreciate having had the opportunity to share with @nc_governor and the @flonc today in Chimney Rock on the week of the 2nd anniversary of Hurricane Helene. Many of the other issues from my list, the governor addressed directly in his press conference (I’ll share some clips throughout the week).

HERE’S JUST THE BEGINNING—showing the concept, the website, and how the Chimney Rock Lake Lure Trail can connect our businesses, attractions, events and communities through one digital visitor journey.

As Mayor of Lake Lure, I will begin working with the Mayor of Chimney Rock immediately to coordinate the first phase, invite local businesses to participate and build one unified regional narrative. From there, the trail can extend west through Bat Cave and east to businesses beyond Lured Market.

The goal is measurable: more discovery, more cross-traffic between businesses, more redemptions and more repeat visits. We start small, verify every listing, launch a 90-day pilot, report the results and expand together.

One map. One journey. One stronger regional economy.

It’s been almost two years since Hurricane Helene and there is still so much work to be done in Chimney Rock. But please don’t wait. They need your support more than ever as they rebuild.

We spent two beautiful days at @riversymphony109 so we could support Chimney Rock. We ate out every single meal (including coffee) and we plan to go back soon to show some love to all of the shops.

We LOVED our stay at @riversymphony109 and I wanted to share a little walk through of the cabin!

This beautiful cabin is only about .5 miles from Chimney Rock Village and we were really excited to spend a couple of days supporting Chimney Rock!

We loved the proximity to some of our favorite places —

🥾 The entrance to @chimneyrocknc is about .5 miles away from the cabin! Chimney Rock is such an amazing state park and you can’t beat being this close to it.
🍔 We ate at @chimneyrocksmokehouse and @riverwatchgrill
☕️ We had coffee twice at @riverwatchcoffeegifts
🍻 We didn’t get to check out @the828taproom on this trip but we’re going back in the next couple of weeks to check it out and show them some love!

There are some really amazing businesses that are open in Chimney Rock that are still recovering from Hurricane Helene (and @whistlehopbrewing is opening soon!) I highly recommend staying here for a few days to show them some love and help them rebuild.
