A brief history of trans people playing professional hockey in North America and in Europe!

Trans people have always been here; that's why it's so important for the PWHL to implement a gender inclusion policy 🏳️‍⚧️

We are still buzzing from MSG and we are not ready to let that energy go. Neither are our Sirens — because every single point right now is everything. 🚨💙

This Saturday our Sirens are on the road in Minnesota and we are going to be loud for them from right here in Manhattan. Come watch together at Wilka’s — NYC’s first women’s sports bar — and let’s harness everything we felt last Saturday and send it all the way to Minnesota. WEE BELIEVE. 🚨

We will have Echo chant signs and commemorative 8x10 MSG prints available for purchase with $1 from every sign and print sold going to Ally Simpson’s ShakeOn initiative. And we have a LOT of April birthdays to celebrate so come ready to do that too! 🎂

THE DETAILS:
Saturday April 11th
Doors open 12pm - Puck drop 1pm

Wilka’s Sports Bar
241 Bowery, New York NY 10002
Between Prince & Spring Street

No cover. Cash bar. Full menu with vegan options.

All are welcome — bring everyone!
Come for the Sirens. Stay for the family. WEE WOO. 🚨💙

SOLD OUT. 🗽🚨🧜‍♀️🏒🧡

Tonight the New York Sirens take the ice at Madison Square Garden — the most famous arena in the world — in front of 18,000+ fans. The largest crowd in US women’s ice hockey history. The first professional women’s hockey game ever played at The Garden.

This is for every person who showed up when the seats were empty. Every fan who drove to Newark on a Tuesday night in January. Every person who held up a sign, learned a chant, and told someone else about this team. Every person who believed before it was easy to believe.

But tonight is also for every team and every fan who came before us. For the Metropolitan Riveters and every women’s hockey organization that fought, sacrificed and laid the foundation for this moment. For every player who laced up when there were no arenas, no crowds and no guarantees. For Rivs Nation and every fan who loved this sport before the world caught up. You did not just dream of this night — you built it.

Tonight that belief fills every single seat at MSG.

This team. This community. This moment. 💙🚨

WEE WOO. Let’s go Sirens.

When you hear the SIRENS — The Echo is right behind.

Got another compliment from a very well-known name in the world of women's hockey. Haven't worked with her since our one year together with the @riveters, but we're following each other on TikTok, so it's helpful to know that she remembered me!

There are moments in life that can leave you speechless as you reflect, while at the same time full of gratitude. This sport has given me lifelong memories, relationships and most importantly, an extended family. The decision to hang up my skates didn’t happen over night, but now I feel nothing but a satisfied fulfillment of what hockey gave me and have a peaceful, celebratory feeling of my choice. I’m excited to continue to build on my other passions and look forward to new opportunities in this sport.

To my coaches, teammates, parents, family members, and to my wife and son- thank you for coming along for the ride and loving this journey as much as I did. I will cherish these moments forever. Onward and upward… thank you, hockey.

“Sometimes the universe doesn’t give you what you want, but it gives you what you need”. 💫 Beautifully said by one of the game’s best characters. We were so lucky to have a quick chat with @mpacker14 about her retirement on today’s episode! Full conversation is live now.

Honestly crying right now. @mpacker14 you have left such an impact in hockey but also the world; especially the LGBTQ community. I remember feeling so alone and believing the person who said everyone would be better off if I wasn’t here and then I came across you and how you have always been so open about mental health awareness and showing me that it is ok to not be okay; to someone who never felt like I fit in anywhere you helped me to see that there was a space for me. I would have never made it through nursing school or the last few years and health issues without you. Words can’t express how Grateful I am to you. But thank you from the bottom of my heart from the girl in Wisconsin who finally found her safe space because of you. Congratulations on an amazing career and so excited to see what comes next for you. Sending you and your family so much love. ❤️
