AMERICAN PREMIERE

Dracula
Oct. 9 – Nov. 1, 2026
This bold new reimagining of Dracula delivers psychological suspense, gothic horror, and edge-of-your-seat tension just in time for the Halloween season at Hartford Stage.

By Bram Stoker

Adapted by Morgan Lloyd Malcolm

Directed by Jackson Gay

This bold, theatrical reimagining of Dracula retells the classic gothic tale from a powerful new point of view, transforming a familiar story into a chilling exploration of fear, desire, power, and survival.

With an ensemble that shifts shape before our eyes and an atmosphere conjured through language, sound, and imagination, the play becomes not only a story about monsters—but about who is labeled as one.

Acclaimed in London for its nerve-shredding tension and striking contemporary lens, Morgan Lloyd Malcolm’s adaptation strips the myth to its psychological core.
