RJ de Vera’s Honda S2000

An iconic car for those that know. This particular S2000 was cast as Johnny Tran’s car from The Fast & The Furious, and had gone on to be re-cast as Suki’s car from 2Fast 2Furious come 2003.

On the outside is a full VeilSide Millenium aero package, and refinished in a ChromaFlair blue-to-red colourshift paint. Under the wheel arches is a set of 18-inch RO_JA by Motegi Formula 5s, from de Vera’s own wheel line. The interior remains relatively untouched too, save for a VeilSide shift knob mounted up to a C’s short shifter. Audio components include a CD player, head unit and amplifiers supplied by Clarion, as well as Image Dynamics speakers.

The F20C mill remains mostly untouched as well, save for a Comptech supercharger, HKS Hiper exhaust, as well as a Bosch fuel pump and NGK spark plugs. Stopping power was supplied by Endless Zeal slotted rotors and brake pads, while suspension duties were handled by RE Works Z-Two coilovers and SSB-Two front strut braces.

September 28th this year marked 25 years since The Fast & The Furious first premiered in theatres, and despite the lag on this page, I had this post lined up to celebrate the moment.

SEMA prep is officially in full swing!

I’ve been spending some serious time signing and numbering fine art paper prints as we get everything stocked and ready for Las Vegas.

Sure, the booth may look polished once the show opens, but behind the scenes it’s a little less glamorous... paint, canvas, and paper are everywhere in the studio, all in various stages of progress, and my desk has completely disappeared under it all.

I was especially excited to see some of my fine art print editions start reaching #200 of 250.

My first time attending The Quail, and honestly, I’m still trying to take it all in. 🏎️✨

What an absolutely mind-blowing experience.

From the moment you walk onto the lawn, you realize this isn’t simply another car event. The Quail brings together an incredible collection of automotive history, design, craftsmanship, and some of the most significant and desirable automobiles in the world, all in one setting.

Getting to walk among the cars, explore the incredible manufacturer displays and booths, and see so many rare and historically important vehicles up close was something I won’t soon forget. There’s something pretty special about seeing cars you’ve spent years reading about, photographing, and studying sitting just a few feet away.

And beyond the cars themselves, the atmosphere is what really makes The Quail unique. The people, the conversations, the craftsmanship, the stories behind the collections, and the sheer passion for the automobile are everywhere you look.

It was my first Quail, but certainly not my last.

Already looking forward to coming back and seeing what next year brings. 🥂🏁
