Rotten Beings - A comic about labor, purpose of existence and Canadian geese.
It is one of my most introspective and poetic comics. I hope to make more watercolor comics/ editorials/ covers.

Thank you @rjcaseywrites and @the_comics_journal_ for featuring it in Arrivals and Departures earlier in April.

THE MACHINE IS BROKEN reviewed by @rjcaseywrites for @the_comics_journal_

I've deceptively pulled a series of quotes out of context in order to give the false appearance of a positive review. I am honored to be torn apart in the pages of this historic magazine!

THE MACHINE IS BROKEN is available for preorder now from @fieldmousepress and @asterism_books

These marvelous people have been kind enough to share their thoughts regarding Titanic Comics no.1, presented in roughly the chronological order in which I learned each person exists, in my perpetually infinite ignorance.

I wrote the introductions below; I am to blame for what might superficially look like descriptions I stole from their website or nightmares.

@hyenahell makes hell (above and below, on and off the page) more fun than a barrel of bones! Hyena jams their excellent comics with bleak landscapes (above and below), philosophic quandaries, fire, crotch bulges, pratfalls, punchlines, vampire crust punks, fire, zealots of all stripes, and more fire. Hyena’s mentorship through @comicsworkshop really helped me push the comic to the max (which included finishing it).

@gabbyschulz draws funny/sociopathic/snivelling/hemorrhaging/virus-spreading animals better than anyone out there. He can draw everything from an exploding planet to a dripping moldy showerhead in a way that feels alive, with the full spectrum of expression available to a master cartoonist. He renders searing insights with courageous honesty.

@dominocomicbooks Austin English has apparently been a comics aficionado since he could walk and is a powerhouse of critiquing, promoting, publishing, distributing, and creating comics. He has been advocating for great comics in word and deed forever and is a pillar of the independent comics community.

@comicsblogger Thomas Campbell has dedicated himself to reading independent comics, doing interviews and reviews, and producing and distributing his Comics Blogger zine. He is also publishing and distributing great comics!

@rjcaseywrites Curates the world’s premier Chicago Bulls art collection and also reviews comics for @the_comics_journal. I appreciate the candor with which he approaches his reviews, and hope no bulls were harmed in the flood.

Thank you all!

You can pick one up on my website and several other fine retailers!

I’m blushing. What greater joy and honor is there as an indie comics maker than to wake up to a review by @rjcaseywrites in @the_comics_journal_ ??? Ive always loved reading RJ’s interviews and reviews, thoughts and musings— it’s an honor :) Thanks for your kind words, RJ— I promise I’m working on a comics collection!! it’s just taking forever!!!

I have so much fun making Slick Susan. I’ll have it back in the sh0ppe soon— hopefully this year the next story can be done, too!

If you’re a book publisher or some type of eccentric arts-loving landbaron who wants to house me like a pet while I draw & color the next 2 Slick Susan stories, maybe I can finally get a collection finished 😏😏😏

I had no idea that so many shades of green and types of moss existed! Spending a few days off the grid with my little family is all I ever want and need to feel grounded. I’m grateful to all who continue to love and support me. Cheers to another trip around the sun!
