PRO YEAR #1 ✅️
First year as professional basketball player came to an end.
It was a Roller-coaster, UP and DOWN. 📈📉
I enjoyed it with people I met along the way and shared it with them. 🎢
Thanks to @slavia_basketball for giving me this opportunity to start my career back home in Czechia close to my family and friends. 🇨🇿
Biggest lesson from this year is:
When you get knocked down, you don't lose, only when you stay down and give up. 🙏 GB #13

ONCE A LION. NOW A LEGEND.
Rubin Jones Makes Pro Basketball History

Jack Yates School of Communications Honors Alumnus Rubin Jones’ Breakout Professional Success

Jack Yates HS School of Communications proudly celebrates alumnus Rubin Jones, whose remarkable basketball journey continues to inspire. From becoming the winningest player in the history of the University of North Texas to delivering a powerful 2024–2025 campaign at the University of Michigan, Jones has built a legacy defined by leadership, consistency, and championship‑level impact.

During his tenure at the University of North Texas, Jones etched his name into program history. His discipline, defensive intensity, and ability to elevate teammates helped UNT reach unprecedented heights — culminating in him earning the title of the winningest player the program has ever produced.

Seeking new challenges, Jones transferred to the University of Michigan, where he delivered a standout 24–25 season. His veteran presence, two‑way play, and clutch performances helped anchor the Wolverines and showcased his readiness for the next level, and a solid showing in the Big Ten.

Now, after a history‑making night in professional basketball, Jones continues to demonstrate the same qualities he showed as a student in the Jack Yates School of Communications magnet program — poise, preparation, and the ability to rise when the lights are brightest.

Rubin’s journey reflects everything we strive to instill in our students’. “From Yates to UNT to Michigan to the Pros, @rjcrossover has carried excellence with him every step of the way. His story is a testament to hard work, humility, and the power of believing in your own path.”

The Jack Yates community — students, alumni, faculty, and families — proudly stands behind Jones as he continues writing one of the most inspiring chapters to come out of the School of Communications.

Once a Lion, Always a Legend. Congratulations, Rubin Jones !!! Your legacy continues to grow.
