Kev just finished running 5km, every single hour, for 48 hours straight. 240km. No proper sleep, no real rest, just lacing back up every time the clock hit the hour. I’ve known Kev for nearly 20 years. We’ve travelled the world together, had unbelievable adventures, and along the way we found something a lot of friendships never get to - the ability to just sit in silence together and be completely comfortable. That’s a rare thing. On big mountains, it’s essential. But the reason this challenge matters isn’t the distance. Kev’s son has OCNDS, an ultra-rare genetic condition, and everything Kev does - this run, the ride before it - is to raise money and awareness for the CSNK2A1 Foundation, the charity supporting families like his and funding research into the condition. When he asked if I’d be involved, there was only ever one answer. Kev does all of this with barely any fuss. He just gets on with it - works hard, shows up, and lets the results speak. That’s what makes him a role model, not the 240km. The support on the event just shows who he is. People showing up the whole time to run a loop or even 12 loops! 🙏🫡 Well done, Kev. 240KM. 48 HOURS. 5KM EVERY HOUR. 🏃‍♂️✅️ I can't thank everyone enough who came out and supported over the weekend. People showing up in the middle of the night to come and run or even just to say hi was amazing!! Awesome effort by @dutyhappybloke doing 12 laps with some dodgy kidney issues (and some code brown 💩) was a shout. He then went full crew mode! Couldn't have done it without you. Roof rack fitted and roof box bolted on along with the spare wheel, just need to fit the bungs in the end of the bars. Light bar fitted on the front just waiting for a relay to arrive so I can wire it up. Fell in love with the Atlas Mountains on the outskirts of Marrakesh we had a choice to make- go to the coast with chances of rain or drive across the Atlas Mountains. The roads were slow. Big Vee (the Vario) took to them with ease and found her rhythm at a steady 40-50kph depending on the bends. Then we went off the N road in search of more isolation and this is where we really went through the winding roads. The sheer drops. The rocks that had fallen onto the road causing blockages. The ford. The road that bended basically at 90 degrees (slight exaggeration). This is where we found adventure. Two small Berber rugs for Big Vee and the sun. The African continent will always have my heart.
