Let’s discuss push-up variation. Performing a push-up on a physioball or an uneven surface will add not only variety but more muscle recruitment. That’s our goal, right? There are a lot of muscles that help the shoulder blades move and stabilize during a push-up exercise, but one of the primary helpers/stabilizers is the serrates anterior. And for many of us it’s quite weak. In addition, engaging your transverse and rectus abdominis while holding up in a plank position will furthermore build core and spine strength and stability. •
•
•
SERRATUS ANTERIOR is a shoulder stabilizer that is located underneath the shoulder blades and along the sides of the rib wall. It helps upwardly rotate the shoulder blade to prevent shoulder impingement especially during overhead movements.
TRANSVERSE AND RECTUS ABDOMINIS is a low back and pelvis stabilizer prior to movement.

@rmelvin28 is working shoulder and core stability while performing physioball push-up. This exercise works the entire body by 1) improving the strength of your triceps, chest and shoulders, 2) increasing core stability and 3) improving shoulder health and function.

BE AWARE. PREVENT INJURY. Reap these benefits by maintaining correct technique, posture and position. Try this next time you do push-ups.

How do you think the #jags did in freeagency? I think we did decent with Schobert, Eifert, and Melvin, the other ones kind of confused me. 🤔👇👇👇

The @jaguars have been busy in free agency the last few days, adding much needed depth to a defensive unit that really struggled in 2019. ✅
*
Cassius Marsh is an excellent rotational pass rusher, he’s not an every down DE, but he adds a lot of explosiveness on blitz packages, and he plays with a lot of speed.
*
We’re probably all familiar with Tyler Eifert, and he’s an upper echelon TE when healthy. Eifert’s very productive as a pass catcher, and we’ll be happy if we can get around 9 productive games from him.
*
Rashaan Melvin is a 6’2” CB with a high ceiling and a low floor. Melvin’s more than likely a depth player, but he does have starter potential. In 2017, Melvin was one of the better CB’s in the league.
*
Al Woods is a big nose tackle who can wreak havoc on the opposing team’s run game. Much like Marsh, Woods is a rotational player who can add a lot of power on certain down and distances. Expect woods to play a crucial role in the run defense.
