this amazing leathery and cherry #brunellodimontalcino from @casanuovadellecerbaie was purchased at the @adamswineshop thanks to the late great #sommelier @rmorancy I heard him on the @winemakerspod podcast a year or two ago and then thanks to a @theopolisvineyards IG post I learned that he was running @adamswineshop To my delight I hurried over and became a regular customer and looked forward to conversations with him. It broke my heart to hear of his passing. The shop has a terrific array of wines for all pallets - including this beauty. #restinparadise

Back in the day we called him the Haitian Sensation ⚡️I first got to know him when we worked together in Philly and he came and found me in San Francisco after we had both moved there. Some of you knew him as a celebrated wine director and for his many contributions to the community 🍷Ruben Morancy was a brilliant, warm man whose smile and laughter would light you up. Cheers to you, sir 🥂You will be missed❤️💔❤️ 🇭🇹

I am sad today.
Last night I heard the terrible news.
My friend @rmorancy was gone.
Ruben was special.
He was an incredible person, with a heart of pure gold💛.
He loved people, hospitality, dogs, and wine of course.
He was incredible artist, and worked hard at everything he did.
We became family through our dogs, who were brother and sister. Prune loved Ruben so much.
We all did.

I know that he is somewhere better now. Hopefully enjoying a glass of wine, and playing again with Miles Davis🐶.

Goodbye my friend.
I love you and will miss you dearly.

Quickly this 2018 UMSASANE by @aslina_wines became a house staple!

First introduced to these wines last year via @southlawineclub’s IG live with @nbiyela.

The harmonious balance of this blend is why I truly enjoy Bordeaux wines. A South African full-bodied red with dark fruit on the palate, wood and plum flavors, and tight tannins with a beautiful finish that stays with you. All of which paired wonderfully with my grilled lamb chops and Chimichurri.

The blend is comprised of -
63% Cabernet Sauvignon
28% Cabernet Franc
9% Petit Verdot
