THROWBACK THURSDAY 🌊🌊🌊

R&B. Quiet Storm. Contemporary. Jazz. 🎶
Music lovers… you had to be there!

Does this song sound familiar? Fun fact: This classic made an appearance on the iconic ’90s sitcom @beverlyhills90210

You guessed it… “Not Enough Hours in the Night” @after7music. Produced by the legendary @keithandesproducer. Released in 1994 on Virgin Records.

But here’s where this story becomes deeply personal…

Something special is coming October 2026 👀

As the son of the late Melvin Edmonds, founding member of After 7, this record means so much more to me than just music.

Before my father passed, we had a conversation. I gave him my word that one day, I would remake a classic song, change the game and navigate through the Entertainment Industry, Independently.

It wasn’t just a promise I made to an artist. It was a promise I made to my father. And after losing him, that promise took on an entirely different meaning. Every step I’ve taken since has carried a piece of that conversation with me. The music. The sound. The passion. The responsibility of carrying forward something he spent his life helping create. I want my father to know that I kept my word. This isn’t simply about recreating a classic. It’s about keeping my father’s memory alive. It’s about reminding the world that his sound didn’t die.

It lives through his music. It lives through Melvin Edmonds legacy. Most importantly, it lives through his children.

As his JR, it lives through me.
Melvin Edmonds JR. The next “Edmonds” generation.

🌊 10.2.2026. THE LEGACY CONTINUES 🌊

when i started breaking down the stories behind these songs one by one for the series, 12 chapters sounded like a lot. 😂 somehow, we made it all the way through.

watching them together now feels different. every song came from a different place. some lighter. some heavier. some probably deeper than i intended…

but that was always the idea behind Erratic Heartbeats.

love doesn’t move in a straight line. it changes rhythm. speeds up. slows down. skips a beat every now and then.

12 songs. 12 heartbeats. one album.

if you followed Inside the Heartbeats, which one stayed with you?

Sometimes the truth stops hiding…
and you’re forced to tell it all.

INSIDE THE HEARTBEATS

Ep. 12:
OF COURSE I LIED

This chapter explores the truths we sometimes bury beneath the things we say to protect ourselves.

“I’m fine.”
“I don’t care.”
“I’m over it.”
“It didn’t mean that much.”

Sometimes the lie isn’t really meant to fool anyone else.

It’s what we tell ourselves when admitting the truth would require us to feel everything we’ve been trying not to.

But eventually, the truth has a way of catching up with the story we’ve been telling.

And when it does…

there’s nothing left to hide.

Funny how you can be completely fine alone…
until the night gets quiet.

Ep. 11:
LOVE ON A LONELY NIGHT

This chapter explores those moments when solitude suddenly feels a little different.

You can enjoy your own company. Build a life that feels full. Stay busy, fulfilled, and perfectly content on your own.

And then the night gets quiet.

The distractions disappear. The world slows down. And sometimes what you want most isn’t an escape from being alone… it’s simply someone worth sharing the moment with.

Because wanting company doesn’t mean you’re incomplete.

Even a full life can have a lonely night.

It’s easy to be romantic…
Falling in love is the challenge.

INSIDE THE HEARTBEATS

Ep. 10:
DON’T LIKE FALLING IN LOVE

This chapter explores the space between enjoying romance and actually allowing yourself to fall.

The dates. The flowers. The chemistry. The thoughtful gestures. Those can come naturally.

But letting someone into a life you’ve learned to enjoy on your own requires something different….Vulnerability…

Maybe it’s not love we’re afraid of…. Maybe it’s how much of ourselves we have to surrender to experience it.
