Meet Jolie Meade who plays Emma in Made with Heart!

On my last film I put out a very last minute casting call looking for someone to play 2 different parts in the film. Jolie responded and showed up to shoot with me, all alone, in a storage unit maybe 2 days later.

It was a very quickly thrown together production and a unique shooting experience. To say I was impressed with Jolie’s ability to nail 2 different characters with no prep time is an understatement.

I knew I needed to work with her again and am so thankful she signed up to be a part of Made with Heart!

Meet Michael Duff-Kelly who plays Ben in Made with Heart!

It’s been a pleasure getting to know Michael during this film. We were fortunate enough to have time to sit down together and talk about the character a lot but also about filmmaking in general. I really enjoyed getting to know his process on acting and mindset on filmmaking.

Michael was also kind enough to open up his home for the first day of shooting. Michael and Jolie, who plays Emma, both worked really hard and endured a lot of hot sunny repetitive driving for this film. I am very thankful to both of them for working with me.

Meet Brennen Johnson who plays Bodie in Made with Heart!

Brennen showed up to the gas station ready to go! The scenes shot at the gas station, not surprisingly, ended up having some of the most difficult challenges.

When plan A got derailed we went with plan B and then ultimately C and I think even brainstormed a plan D 😂. We were lucky enough to be able to go back to plan A and get a window where we could finish the scenes.

Every single person rolled with the punches and kept a positive mindset. These happened to be Brennens only scenes though so I’m thankful he stuck with us and was able to have some fun as well!

Meet Tania C. Brooks, Assistant Director for Made with Heart.

A great Assistant Director is the backbone of any film production. Tania was amazing to have on set, she kept everything running smooth and organized.

Keeping things on time without rushing the creativity is a skill and it’s not easily acquired! Tania works very hard but makes it look effortless.

Could not have made this film without Tania and I hope to work on many more projects in the future!

Meet Brandon Bali, Gaffer for Made with Heart!

I met Brandon on the very first project that I worked on that wasn’t solo filmmaking at home. I had an absolute blast getting to know him on set. Ever since then he’s a first text for any project I have!

Brandon is literally one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet, always chill, never stressed, hard working and knowledgeable!

Looking forward to many more projects together!

Meet Tyler K. Yang, Production Sound Mixer for Made with Heart!

Tyler also did all the Post Sound Design and Mixing. When Tyler introduced himself to me at the Sactown Film Mixer saying he does sound design and audio engineering, I immediately got excited and knew I’d be reaching out to him.

Audio often becomes a last priority for films especially when it comes to Foley and Sound Design but I knew how important having Tyler would be.

Come to find out that he’s also just an amazing person to work with! Tyler worked his butt off in the hot sun setting up and monitoring many devices while I had actors driving windows down, wind in hair, on bumpy noisy roads 😂.

Tyler was also right there at the deadline for the film waiting for any last minute changes or fixes! What a rockstar.

Meet David Neklason, Utility Sound Technician for Made with Heart!

David reached out to me on instagram a few weeks before the Sactown Film Mixer and wanted to meet up to chat filmmaking.

David is a super talented Writer/Director looking to get more plugged into the filmmaking community. I’m really glad that David was able to work on Made with Heart with us and now after seeing his first film and love for horror, I hope to work on many more together!

Meet Hunter Paphavasit, the man behind the Special Effects Makeup for Made with Heart!

One of the things I find most difficult about producing is getting everyone on set at the right time, predicting when we will be ready for Speciel FX etc.

We ended up running behind but Hunter showed up and got right to work! He dug into a box full of things I hoped would work for our Blood Effect. Hunter pulled everything together and made it work. Could not have done it without him.

I cannot say enough how valuable it is to have someone like Hunter on set who knows what to do and gets right to it!

Meet Rene Tellez | BTS Photo / Video for Made with Heart.

Rene is the man responsible for all the amazing behind the scenes videos and insanely cool shots that have been posted on here. The only person on set not to have any images captured of themselves 🤦🏻‍♂️.

Rene made the long drive for both shooting days and absolutely crushed it! I’ve never seen someone do bts the way that he does and I and the team are enormously grateful for him!
