Continued arrests and state repression in Tijmali, Odisha
On the night of 16 October, Dr. Randall Sequeira (physician, Medico Friends Circle, Jan Swasthya Abhiyan) and Laxman Naik (Dalit activist, Ma Mati Mali Surakhya Manch) were taken from Dr. Randall's home in Bhawanipatna, Kalahandi.
⚠️ No warrant, no notice, no reason given
⚠️ Phones taken without a seizure memo
⚠️ Held overnight without access to lawyers or family
⚠️ Whereabouts unknown for hours until produced before the SDJM in Rayagada
⚠️ Neither is named in FIR 85/2026, yet both face charges including attempt to murder, rioting and dacoity
Both have worked to support Adivasi and Dalit communities resisting dispossession from mining. Meanwhile, no action has been taken against the police for the violent lathi charge and tear gassing in Kantamal on 6–7 April, despite villagers' complaints.
We stand in solidarity and demand the withdrawal of all fabricated cases against people defending their jal, jangal, jameen ✊

Day 3 of 3rd National Convention on Children's Right to Food and Nutrition

Across India, Anganwadi workers and the families they serve are being turned away from the very schemes meant for them. Not because they're ineligible, but because:
❌ The e-KYC fails
❌ Facial recognition doesn't match worn or tired faces
❌ The network is down in the village
❌ Aadhaar details don't match by one letter
❌ Workers are blamed for system errors they can't fix
Technology was meant to plug leakages. Instead, it is creating new barriers, and the poorest, women, and frontline workers pay the price. A mother can't get nutrition support. A worker's honorarium is delayed. A child goes without a meal.

There are greater events waiting for our deeper reflection today but I have to talk about this. My apologies.

Last month, 3rd Sep to be precise, I was travelling to Vadodara on @indigo.6e flight 6E 5059 & I became unwell onboard. I guess an episode of hypoglycaemia coupled with stomach infection. The staff on board was prompt, professional, and most of all immensely human in tending to me, especially @artinayak01 Thanks also to the orthopaedic surgeon on board Dr. Sanjeev Chaudhary from Nagpur who rushed to my seat, gave me medical attention, and sat through the entire flight next to me to give me comfort. I am eternally indebted to these people for taking care of me, and most of all making me feel I am not a liability but a person in need of care. Thanks also to my friends @roadscholarz & Sameer Khera who didn’t waste a moment and took me straight to a hospital, and tended me till I was feeling comfortable enough to attend Reetika’s book launch.

Today in happier times I again took a flight to Bengaluru 6E 5217 for my participation in @designupconf The staff again was extremely courteous, especially @sanya_arora9811 who made me feel at home, took great care, and made the journey a joyous, memorable experience.

I know no institution is perfect. Indigo itself is plagued with its own share of complains and customer dissatisfaction. But when crew members go an extra mile, bring such care and joy to customers, and become a source for retaining customers then they should be rewarded. I strongly urge whoever is listening @indigo.6e to felicitate Arti & Sanya. They do you proud.

Thanks & with much affection 💐
