Not how I pictured my last Junior Nationals going. It is frustrating when a result does not reflect all the training and prep put in. My swim did not deliver and I never felt like I was really in the race.

I have learned that the mental side of things is just as important as the physical. Believing in myself has always been hard, but it is something I have grown in through the past year. But it can be hard to stay positive when the results just aren’t coming. I thought and believed this would be my breakthrough race. And it wasn’t.

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Hebrews‬ ‭11‬:‭1‬

My identity is not in my result - win or lose, great race or terrible race. I believe the breakthrough will come. I would have loved for it to be at my last Nationals, but I am trusting God’s timing as I step into what’s next. I am blessed that I am able to do this and blessed to have to opportunity to continue to race and grow in college.

Definitely sad to close this chapter, but excited for what’s next with Wingate.

To all the people who have invested in me, believed in me, coached me, trained with me, and raced with me over these past 3 years, thank you. Mom and dad, thank your endless love and support. I would not be here without you.

So honored to be chosen as the first position All-American alternate male in the upcoming Patriot Games, part of America’s 250th celebration. I’ll be with some of the nation’s best athletes this weekend….excited to meet them and be part of this incredible event!

It’s anyone’s day on race day. JE Nats ‘26

Unfortunately, it wasn’t my weekend. From a broken bike rack to a crash in the MTR, I was definitely disappointed in my results. Aside from that, I’m so happy to be racing, having fun, and making memories surrounded by amazing people.

Reflecting on the weekend, keeping my head up and focusing on healing before AG nats in WI.
