STUDY THE SHOT: TWO-HANDED BACKHAND DINK

Want to improve your two-handed backhand dink? 👀

Here are 3 things I focus on:

✅ 1. Paddle up - don’t drop your paddle face and cup over the ball

✅ 2. Get LOW — Your butt needs to sit! Bend your knees and lower your body instead of reaching down for the ball.

✅ 3. Get your left foot outside the ball — Create space and get your body positioned so you can make clean, controlled contact.

The goal is to get your body in position BEFORE you make contact, instead of reaching and trying to save the shot with your hands.

💾 Save this to review before your next dink session.
📲 Send this to your partner who wants a more consistent backhand dink!

Pro tip: Your back hand dink comes from your left hand. Stop using your right and trust your left to do the work.

Stop just trying to get your resets OVER. Start resetting with a PURPOSE. 🎯

Here’s a simple way to make your reset practice more effective: put a target on the court and aim for a specific spot.

Instead of only focusing on getting the ball low enough to survive the rally, give yourself a clear target to hit.

✅ Pick your target.
✅ Focus on height and control.
✅ Repeat until you can consistently hit that spot.

The goal isn’t just to survive the transition zone. It’s to hit a quality reset that makes your opponents work for the next ball.

📲 Send this to your doubles partner who needs to work on their resets.

Pro tip: Start with a bigger target and narrow it as your consistency improves. Accuracy first, then challenge yourself!

One of the easiest ways to neutralize a hard hitter is to recognize when you don’t actually need to hit the ball.

Just because a ball is coming at you fast doesn’t mean you have to swing at it! Read the trajectory, trust your judgment, and let it go when it’s clearly heading out.

You don’t have to win every rally with your paddle. Sometimes the smartest shot is NO shot. 😂

📲 Send this to your partner who tries to hit EVERYTHING.

Pro tip: Watch the ball’s trajectory, not just its speed. A hard hit that looks intimidating can still be sailing long!

Everything’s fine! 😅

The truth is life is so busy. Between being a mom, a wife, a coach, a creative director, a content creator, and playing professional pickleball I feel like this ☝️… a lot!

But honestly I wouldn’t change it for a thing. What a privilege it is to be able to chase your dreams and do the things you love with the people you love by your side.

For all those scared to try something new… I say go for it! It never hurts to try!

The only unforced error here would be not listening to the @unforcederrorspb podcast.

Grateful to have an opportunity to be featured and share my story, my journey in pickleball and a little bit of the behind the scenes.

‼️⚠️Plus apparently I’m their most unhinged guest yet 😅😇

Shoutout for the photos. Somehow you made me look a lot more composed than I probably am on the court. ☺️

Go give them a follow and a listen 🎧

How to hit this shot 👇

1. Set up like a normal overhead.
2. Keep your elbow high.
3. Hold your position until the ball is just about to make contact with your paddle.
4. Rotate the paddle face toward the wall as you make contact using your wrist.

Pro Tip: Placement over power! 🎯

APP Louisville left my heart warm, and full of gratitude. Not necessarily because I achieved my best result in Men’s Doubles of a semifinal run but for many other reasons.

I noticed that as soon as we reached the semifinals, I was getting an outpouring of support and love from my fellow players. It’s amazing how we try to kill eachother week after week in competition but we still support each other’s success and share in the happiness of an obstacle broken through. This makes me love the sport and community more every day ❤️

To @maxwild__ my mens doubles partner in APP Louisville. Thank you for not only being my rock on the right side but an absolute animal as well. I had such a blast battling with you and proud of how we fought every single point. Not bad for a first time partnership ;) thank you for bringing positive energy and vibes like you always do every time I see you. Stoked to run some back with you and see where we can go!

To those that are struggling in a slump right now… for the past month or two I’ve been on the losing side of so many close 3 game battles and left heartbroken. In APP Louisville I was very much on the lucky side of the 3 game battles. Things may sting now but I promise you that if you keep your head down and work, you’ll come out positive on the other side. Competition is so much like a rollercoaster and if you can make the climb up exciting, the drop will be even more epic on the ride 🫶🏾

@kel.seytheworld was so fun battling with you in Mixed. Thank you for continuing to trust my very questionable decisions on the mixed doubles court and bringing positive energy and fight to each point. Looking forward to our next few tournaments together 🙌

My gratitude spreads to all my partners and sponsors in my corner that help support this dream @luzzpickleball @drinkashwavana @roarsportsgroup @bodhi.pb @gotighties @wired.neuromusc.performance @wellnestaesthetics @eastsidepaddleclub

Finally, I’d like to thank @officialapptour @kenherrmannapptour @kenherrmann_31 and all those on the APP Tour. Without you all working hard to provide these tournaments for us, there would be no dream for a lot of us. Thank you ❤️

I needed something that could keep up with the way I play. 👟

If you’ve watched me compete, you know I’m going after every ball. That style of play has also come with its fair share of ankle injuries over the years, so I’m intentional about anything that helps me move with confidence.

Blumaka insoles have become part of my routine because they stay locked in, feel great through long days on the court, and let me focus on competing instead of what’s happening inside my shoes.

Everyone talks about paddles, but don’t overlook what’s under your feet. 👟

Have you ever tried performance insoles?

Want to build more consistency at the kitchen line? 🎯

I worked through this drill with pro Etta Wright, and it’s a great way to build control, consistency, and confidence in your dinking game.

The challenge: Hit 100 dinks from each spot. See how many balls it takes you.

🏓 The 4 patterns:
1️⃣ Straight ahead — right side
2️⃣ Crosscourt — forehand side
3️⃣ Straight ahead — left side
4️⃣ Crosscourt — backhand side

Don’t rush through the reps. Focus on height, placement, and controlling your paddle face. The goal is to make the same quality shot over and over.

💾 Save this drill for your next practice.
📲 Send it to your dinking partner and see who can finish all four sets first!

Pro tip: Aim for a repeatable contact point and a relaxed grip. Consistency comes from controlling the ball, not forcing it.
