Ain’t No Need To Hide ✨

Some records are part of your musical DNA, and this is definitely one of them.

Back in the late 90s, the Sol Brothers remix of Sandy B’s Ain’t No Need To Hide on Champion Records was everywhere. If you were on the Birmingham scene, every DJ had it in their bag. It was one of those records that never got old and never left the crate.

The Sol Brothers had a certain coolness about everything they touched. They were instrumental in shaping that speed garage sound, and every release seemed to become a dancefloor anthem. Their productions still sound as fresh today as they did back then.

So getting the opportunity to officially remix this record was a real honour.

Huge thanks to Robin Tabor for trusting me with such a special track and giving me the opportunity to put my own spin on a genuine classic.

Big shout out as well to Andrew Galea, who I’m lucky enough to call a friend, and Aston Harvey. After the Sol Brothers era they went on to form Freestylers and continued creating incredible music. True pioneers whose records still stand the test of time. The BK298 Remix is available now across all major digital download stores. ❤️

A proper full-circle moment for me and one I’m incredibly proud of. ❤️

More tracks, less human involvement. 'Prompt Producers' stacking playlist streams uploading at scale. Call it evolution or overload, generative AI isn’t on the horizon, it’s already reshaping the industry. This panel isn’t here to pretend otherwise.

Moderated by the co-founder of one of dance music’s most active PR and marketing agencies, the conversation brings together a broad mix of voices: a senior figure from Bandcamp, a platform built on fair pay for artists now grappling with what being 'authentic' even means. A UK garage and soulful house veteran with decades in the studio, who today splits his time between an AI company and teaching music production, offering a perspective that spans both sides of the debate. The founder of an AI music platform who is also an active artist, uniquely positioned on both sides of the debate. Joined by another producer and Genotone owner whose credits include Massive Attack and Björk, offering the perspective of artists who’ve long pushed technology without being replaced by it. Building the tools while understanding the creative stakes alongside a 30 year industry heavyweight, former CEO of AIM & AFEM, with senior roles at Universal, BMG and AWAL now focused on what a fair and sustainable music business looks like as the rules are rewritten in real time.

Expect a direct, unfiltered conversation covering:
🔸️what counts as real, what qualifies as “slop,” and who decides?
🔸️training data, consent, and the copyright battle already underway
🔸️ghost artists, artificial streams, and the economics of oversupply
🔸️AI as a tool vs. AI as a replacement - where the line is drawn?
🔸️what independent artists and labels should actually be doing right now

Whether you’re embracing it, pushing back, or still figuring it out, this is the conversation the industry can’t keep dodging.

Pull up a chair, this one's going to be lively!

Very pleased to see the release of @richieblacker ‘Snake Altar’ (Progressive, Breaks & Tools) on Break-The-Future including an absolutely killer remix from one of the industry’s true innovators in sound🔥🔥🔥

BTF003 12” Limited Edition Ruby Red Vinyl pre-order now, ships from 20th February 2026 🔂🔂🔂

Release Info: After our last release ‘Innocence’ with Nathan Cable gaining support from John Digweed on his renowned Apple Music Compiled & Mix Series, we bring forth one of the remixers for his own single release ‘Snake Altar’. Richie Blacker Northern Ireland’s progressive house & breaks prodigy who’s seen releases on Sasha’s Last Night On Earth, Scream’s Of Unsound Mind, Franky Wah’s Shen, Armada, Anjuna Deep and so many more including his own imprint Mess Express. We were super excited to sign the original breaks mix of ‘Snake Altar’, an amazing ethereal & euphoric progressive breaks track with its haunting ethnic vocals we just knew who could
step up as the originator (this time) to remix the third Break-The-Future project. Ray Keith, yes, @raykeithdread1 who just loved the track and delivered his signature sound system Jungle / Drum & Bass sound to which we think you’ll absolutely love, just oozing in class. The way it flows from euphoric to his heavy hitting signature darkness to deep jungle roots and back is exactly what we wanted from the big man himself and absolutely buzzing to have Ray on the label for our third release. To finalise the package Richie
Blacker delivered a 4x4 mix, now the lead track and to close off the release a beatless mix & acapella giving you some serious tools to work with…

THIS IS ESSENTIAL!

Exclusively in store (vinyl only) from this Friday 23rd at @dcrecords_se9 get yourself down there this Saturday for a live DJ set with @waxmaterial and keep an eye out for a special BTF pop up soon !!!
