An overdue thank you to @robah @omniscience85 @estie504 @this_kiki @carolmlynchartist @amlopezhair @arijino.artistry @fanclub.13 @following.the.wonder @kasini @kolajmagazine for my New Orleans experience.
The work starts here.

𝘗𝘦𝘢𝘬 𝘙𝘦𝘧𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴
On my climb to the peak, I could only count numbers to stay on the narrow trail and keep my fear of heights at bay. The hawks circling above were within reach. It was the closest I would get to the heavens.

From the Krewe of King Arthur. I left some dyed papers behind after my residency at Kolaj Institute in New Orleans. It had been a joy to see all of the places people are incorporating them into their artwork. Kolaj pal Robbie Morgan used some of the papers to decorate hand crafted grails for Mardi Gras. Robbie sent one, it was the best surprise and a beyond perfect addition to the series 😁 (Music also by Robbie!)

The beads were found in some of my thrift store bead bag purchases while in New Orleans. I wanted the landscapes of the photos I created to be made with things left behind after Mardi Gras.

KOLAJ INSTITUTE IN NEW ORLEANS
SECOND SATURDAY
Advanced Wound Healing Techniques
Saturday, September 14th, 6-9PM
Kolaj Institute Gallery
Free
Made in the months leading up to the artist's 40th birthday, "Advanced Wound Healing Techniques" is a collection of collage made with personal photographs that were destroyed in a series of fires that took place when artist Robbie Morgan was 24 years old. In the intervening sixteen years, the artist carted around these photographs, moving them from home to home, storing them, occasionally reflecting on them. The collages speak to trauma, destruction, memory and how, as we age, we make sense of things. During Second Saturday, Morgan will be available to answer questions. The exhibition will be on view from through October 6th, 2024. The gallery is open Thursday through Saturday from Noon to 6PM and by appointment.

Well what a crazy 7 days it’s been here in NOLA for the American Urology Association Expo! I successfully managed & Supervised over 47 tradeshow booths, Association spaces & public areas. I walked just over 93 miles & my feet still hurt. Thank you Robbie for bailing me out and helping us have some sort of organized chaos! Well home for 5 days then off to Anaheim Ca for an event that I can’t talk about yet. Stay posted this next one is gonna be crazy!! Up Up & Away!!!
