Wakefest 23’ in the books, made finals on Friday and ended up 5th, then Saturday @ulfditsch decided to go chronic on em and catch a dub on the shoot out. @jefflangley_ sunset rides. Jeff has been around for some time now. He’s been everything that makes you a top athlete in any sport. His knowledge of how things work is invaluable. This photo speaks volumes about his ability as an athlete, but what these athletes bring to a shoot can not be weighed in what they produce for themselves. To be clear, he kills it on his side of the lens and allows me to easily get great images of him every single time without fail. What you wouldn’t know by looking at this is that athletes of this caliber also make it possible for any creator to get shots like this of each athlete or family that comes out to these shoots. Driving a boat is not an easy job, especially when you are being followed by another boat hollering instructions at you the entire time. (That would be me 😊 ) we ask the drivers of the chase boats and tow boats to get into some pretty tight situations at times. It takes absolute pros to produce images like this. I’m not saying that to toot my own horn. They make it easy for me, so all the glory should go to the drivers in these situations. I usually have a plan and understand what I want before I go out, but often just a tiny turn one way or another can completely change the look of an image. It may seem insignificant at the time, but that’s the cool thing about photography. The proof is right in front of you when you finish. This post is about Langley, but there are quite a few of these guys and girls I work with throughout the year in many different sports. Truthfully I’ve had the pleasure of working with many of them for many, many years now. It started at home with my Delta crew. We were so proficient that when I got with others, I could quickly see that we may need to have a conversation to ensure we didn’t go out and spin our wheels. The thing about pros like Langley is that when you have that conversation, they understand it and can execute. Huge shout out to all the people over the years that have made it possible for me to get images I’m proud to share.
