Last week was a big week after I lensed phase one of an exciting new commercial project for @mikesreenan with an incredible crew. Really pleased with how week one went! Mega hyped on the scenes we’ve shot so far, with me and Mike daily sending each other inspiration for this project for months! Shot on Alexa 35 & Cooke Panchro S2’s. Can’t wait to share more on this project soon and get stuck into the next phase ✌🏼

Raising money for a film is weird. It's a lot of hoops and boxes to tick. And if you aren't good at writing pitches, you ain't got a chance at smelling that tiny pot of money we all fight over.

I wanted to do something different to raise money for my next short film @candledodgers - but I wasn't willing to simply beg for it. How do I get people to pay attention? I have to bleed.

One thing I adore is walking. It burns calories, it's low impact, it's amazing for your cardiovascular health. But mostly importantly, it's mental health magic.

So how far? 100,000 steps sounded like a nice round number. At my height, that translates to 50 miles. In a single day!? I worked out I would need 15 hours of daylight. Walk from Sunrise to Sunset - and do the whole thing while live on camera for proof and support.

Guess what!? I beat my predicted time! I managed to finish the 50 mile route in 14hrs 48mins! Burning 14,000 kcals!

We have raised £4040 for Candle Dodgers so far! Thank you so much to the 96 donators ❤️ This money will unlock the ability to make something fantastic!

As promised, 10% of this will be donated to @searchnewcastle - a charity supporting older people with activities, advice, and support.

Thank you to my family and friends who joined me throughout the walk, either in person or tuning into the live-stream.

There were times when I was ready to pack it in, but seeing everyone's smiling faces cheering me on was HUGE!

Thank you so much to @eleanor_costumes , @mimsiemcd , and @robert_mcdougal for your unwaiving support throughout this whole process - planning, scheduling, filming - the list goes on. I wouldn't have made it to the finish line without the 3 of you ❤️

Introducing our Director of Photography @robert_mcdougal

Rob is a DoP based in Newcastle and working across the UK. He has been working with lighting and camera for over 12 years, Rob has a deep understanding of the connection between story, and bringing that to life on the screen. His work has been aired on Sky Arts/Now TV and shown in many festivals across Europe.

His approach to cinematography is focused on connecting to the script, and ensuring that the emotion of the visuals is the key aspect of his work.

Rob's experience and holistic approach to cinematography, will be invaluable in creating a unique visual style for this film.

What an incredible weekend at @sundshortsfilm meeting so many lovely folks and watching a stack of amazing films. And to top it all off we even won Best Drama! 🤯

Had the absolutely pleasure to get back on set and support my mate @storytimewithjohn and his feature film ‘Never Heard of It.’ The project is a mockumentary raising awareness to @niemannpickuk. A small charity supporting families affected by Niemann-Pick diseases, a group of devastating but little-known genetic conditions. Thanks again to @apprenticefilms for having me along, I’m very grateful. Nice to see new and familiar faces. Awesome team on this production, as always. Great work everyone and I look forward to watching the finished film!
