POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

As Fall settles in Chicago, I keep going back to these days in Puglia.

The pine forest, the olive groves, and the food at @baby.dicecca: mozzarella pulled by hand, burrata, figs with fresh cream, orecchiette, truffle. All amazing.

Mostly I miss my good friends Vito (@cheeseinside) and Roberta @robertadelia , thank you for always making me and Joseph feel at home.

Can’t wait to be back.

The road less traveled usually leads to the best table. 🧀🌳🇮🇹

Long before Baby Dicecca found its way onto Stanley Tucci’s Italian food journey, those in the know were already making the pilgrimage deep into the forests of Puglia for one unforgettable experience—an entire restaurant dedicated to cheese.

After a 1 hour and 45 minute drive, on the recommendation of our dear friends @casaandina_salento and Argentina’s MasterChef @donatodesantis, we finally understood why.

Behind Baby Dicecca is the inspiring story of Vito and Roberta, who turned a love story—one that literally began with a piece of cheese at a wine tasting—into one of Italy’s most unique dining destinations. Named after their first daughter, Chiara, who was still on the way when they opened, Baby Dicecca is proof that family, passion and vision can create something truly extraordinary.

Every course celebrated cheese in a different way—from goat’s milk mozzarella with oranges and tomatoes to stracciatella with figs, homemade focaccia, zucchini flowers, a spectacular two-year-aged blue cheesecake and goat’s milk yogurt ice cream.

But what impressed us most wasn’t just the menu.

It was Vito’s vision.

A young entrepreneur navigating Italy’s bureaucracy while thinking far beyond his forest restaurant—bringing his cheese experiences to Palm Beach each winter and soon to Franklin, Tennessee. It’s this blend of local roots and global ambition that makes Baby Dicecca so special.

The future of Italy is in the hands of young visionaries like Vito and Roberta—people preserving tradition while daring to reinvent it.

Stay hungry. Stay curious. And if you’re in Puglia… make the drive.

Trust me, it’s worth every kilometer.
