It is time for each and everyone of to take a vivid thorough look at how we conduct our lives. It’s time to truly and honestly investigate any and all of our unconscious biases...to truly understand how our African American brothers and sister wear a suit of prejudicial armor everyday when they arise...and bear that exhausting weight each and everyday...Caucasian Americans jump out of bed and hit the ground running on a carpet of white privilege and it’s so ingrained into the DNA of our culture that it’s rarely felt, it’s just a subliminally, figurative and many times literally “get out of jail free” card. It’s time to truly recognize that the African American community started in deep hole of inequity from word go. The opportunities for housing, education, nutrition, Employment were all put on a shelf that was unreachable even on tip toes of the strongest among them...our society says “there it is...you can see it...just get it” Holy shit, just get what? Our deviant system of inequality has been a calculated mental and physical prison for African Americans since they were so savagely brought to this land that never intended to stop their oppression...if this was a pick up basketball game white America got spotted 19 points in a game of 21...equal footing has never existed!!! Despair is not a way of life it is a emotion that disintegrates the soul... think about trying to live everyday with that despair...it is not sustainable on any level, financial, emotionally, or societally...that is what our African American citizens must embody 24/7! Have things gotten better in this country of course they have...but we must accept that the “get to the back of bus” Is now “get to the back of the employment line” ...being denied a seat at the lunch counter is now being denied a home loan...separate water fountains are separate opportunities for education when woefully underfunded schools try their mightiest to educate black and brown children...make no mistake the prowling leopard of racism is still very much among us, it has just changed it’s spots! Let’s finally be honest white America...let’s face the truth and let’s get off of our ass join forces 🤜🏾🤛 and change it! ✌️

@soloeyewear had another eye care clinic this past Saturday...this time at an orphanage in Ensenada Mexico. I feel such great pride each and every time I wear my Solo sunglasses knowing that I am contributing to improving the eyesight of children in need! All you need to do is go to the @soloeyewear website and look at the joy on the faces of kids from previous eye clinics when they receive corrective lenses and they can actually see clearly and read effectively!!! ...our lives should be about helping others...especially children in need...by simply purchasing a pair of sunglasses 🕶 you can afford a child a chance to see clearly...see their future...I will always wear my Solo Sunglasses proudly!
