We're excited to announce our exhibition, "Beat the Heat," opening on First Friday, June 5, at the Belger Crane Yard Gallery! Through diverse techniques and materials, the artists capture the distinctive spirit of summer, evoking both the warmth of the season and relief from its oppressive heat. Each artist addresses a key aspect of the summer experience—whether it’s vibrant nightlife, exploring the outdoors and urban environments, or finding moments of calm amid the season’s frenzy. Together, they consider the central question: “What Beats the Heat?” Beat the Heat includes work by Ekin Atyac and Josh Davids, Robert Bingaman, Element Ten, Erica Iman, Georgia Janowiecki, and Ethan Stern, along with works from the Belger Collection by Chandra DeBuse, Susan Glaser, and Alex Siburney, among others. We invite you to the First Friday opening reception from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. For more information on this exhibition and more, visit our Linktree in our bio! 𝑶𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒔 𝑶𝒏𝒍𝒚 🌿🎨✨ In honor of #EarthDay this week, we’re thinking about the way original art brings life—and the beauty of the world around us—into a home, from landscapes and prairie sunsets to bold abstracts, sculpture, photography, and pieces that simply resonate. The right piece for the right person does more than fill a wall; it gives a space 𝑠𝑜𝑢𝑙. >>> 𝐸𝑥𝑝𝑙𝑜𝑟𝑒 𝑀𝑜𝑟𝑒: bit.ly/dkc-originals-only From your first purchase to a lasting collection, finding meaningful pieces of art that transform your spaces starts with discovering what you love. Visit local galleries, study as much art as possible, and look for the work that creates a personal connection—whether it’s the color of a painting, the texture of a textile, or the feeling a piece brings into a room. ✨ Kansas City has many fine galleries, but you can start with our featured experts: 𝗛𝗮𝘄 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 1600 Liberty Street Kansas City, MO @hawcontemporary hawcontemporary.com 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝘀 7900 Santa Fe Drive Overland Park, KS @prairiebrookeartcompany pbarts.com 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘆 118 Southwest Blvd Kansas City, MO @bluegallerykc bluegallery.com 📝 Story by Sarah MacFarland #mydesignkc #designkc #originalart #kansascity

My first-ever job in the “art world” was interning for Robert Bingaman at the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art. While this feels like a lifetime ago, and so much has changed for us both, I have always followed his remarkable work—watching how it evolves, yet always remains true to his personal aesthetic and concept. It was my priveledge to write a review of @robertjosiah’s current exhibition on view at @hawcontemporary for @kcstudiomag. Read it below and be sure to go and see the show! https://kcstudio.org/robert-bingaman-beyond-haw-contemporary/ Waffle House with Baby Tree, 2025, Oil on Canvas Denali, 2025, Oil on Canvas Superposition, 2025, Oil on Canvas Blackbird 1, 2025, Oil on Canvas

Haw Contemporary is pleased to announce two shows, opening TONIGHT. Downstairs, Robert Bingaman's Beyond will occupy all three galleries downstairs, wtih Archie Scott Gobber's READY FIRE AIM upstairs. Opening reception with the artists runs from 5-8pm. Please note that the gallery will not open until noon today, as we finalize preparations for the exhibitions. Reach out to mail@hawcontemporary.com for pricing and availability. Archie Scott Gobber - READY FIRE AIM Long celebrated for his sharp fusion of text, image, and cultural critique, Gobber's current exhibition pushes further into the immediacy of language. Phrases, idioms, and expressions are reconfigured to reveal humor, irony, and unease, reminding us how words shape perception as much as images do. His targets — consumerism, politics, identity, belief — land with renewed urgency, but it is ultimately his humanity that shines through, lifting the work above the noise and anchoring it in a deeply human register. Robert Bingaman - Beyond Known for his luminous, psychologically charged paintings, Bingaman turns his attention to scenes that hover between the everyday and the extraordinary: Waffle House exteriors glowing at night, Cold War communications systems, stealth aircraft, and alpine vistas. Each work is grounded in careful observation yet infused with memory, history, and a searching interiority, distilling fleeting personal moments and vast cultural symbols alike into meditations on time, mortality, and perception. Archie Scott Gobber Starting is Half Finished, 2025 Latex on canvas 44.1” x 56” Robert Bingaman Platform 1 (Light Ground), 2025 oil on canvas 48” x 60”
