@3waymirrorband hosts a Charity Concert where they raised $$ towards the Children’s Cancer Institute and also played Dream Theater songs, with Metropolis Pt 2 being in full.

GEAR
Canon EOS-5D Mark III with 24-105mm lens, f4.0, 1/60-200 and ISO 12800
Canon EOS-RP with 24-105mm lens, f4.0, 1/60-160 and ISO 20000

This set saw me running around infrequently. I mostly aimed side angles when getting @robertmouat though I went slightly off-centered at the front so his mouth is seen better. I aimed for 2 spots when @jaz.tunes joined on stage; slightly off-centre and crouched when she did the intro of Through Her Eyes and left for Strange Déjà vu. As for @jake.bauer1903 and @vanleucia when they did their respective solos, I too did not hold back with crouching and slightly slanting my camera for dynamic angles. Once Jaz is back on stage again for The Spirit Carries On, I went front angles and crouched down to get a better angle of her. As for @brondrums , I aimed for mainly side and also at the back where stage stairs are to get a clearer angle of him. For the keys, I went front and back angles; with the back angles I relied on my RP so I can stretch my left arm out to get a better angle. Towards the end, I moved my camera closer while I’m in the same position for a dynamic angle. Crouched most of the time for better @cobi.bass angles as well.

Once I got home to do the edits, I mainly raised the brightness / curves, did contrast work when lighting’s very bright, desaturated photos when they look mostly red and narrowed down to the ones I’ll send to them. Of all the editing sessions I’ve had, this is arguably the best for one simple reason. Listening to Metropolis Pt 2 in full really helped with making editing more enjoyable. Increasing brightness and contrast plus decreasing saturation if the photos look red helped out, especially when the stage lights were flashing.

My main success going into this set was not headbanging and especially air drumming at any point during Metropolis Pt 2 portion of the set, no matter how severely tempting it was, for professional behaviour reasons.

Thanks Jake for the opportunity to capture the evening/night!
