The end of August always comes too fast.

Somehow, another summer at Camp Bonaventure is already over. My fifth one. I started here as a volunteer for two summers, then spent two summers as a counsellor, and this year got to be a Senior Counsellor for the first time. Five summers later, I still don’t think I’ll ever get used to leaving.

Camp has been there for me through so many ups and downs. No matter what’s going on in my life, the second I walk through those gates, I’m happy. My camp name is Winx, and I always tell my friends, “Winx is never sad.” And it’s true. Camp is genuinely the happiest place on Earth for me.

My brother was a camper here almost 18 years ago, so getting to come back all these years later and help create those same memories for kids of all abilities means more to me than I can explain. Camp is a place where everyone gets to belong, and I feel so lucky that I get to be part of it.

To my Badgers.🦡🤍 Being your Senior Leader this summer was so much more than just a role. Somewhere between the early mornings, late nights, chaos, hard days, and nonstop laughing, you became some of my closest friends.

That’s one of my favourite things about Camp. The kids are the heart of everything we do, but Camp gives you people, too. Every summer I meet incredible people, and this year especially, I made some of the closest friendships I’ve ever had.

I’m going to miss my kiddos like crazy. I’m going to miss my Badgers, the chaos, the laughs, and all the little moments that made this summer so special.

So I’m not saying goodbye. Just see you later. I’ll be counting down the days until I’m back.

End of August, but definitely not the end of Camp.🤍🦡
