Happy first birthday to our sweet Aodhan Joel. You, our smiley son, can give the biggest smiles and chuckles even on sick days like today. Your easygoing, comfortable, content character has brought peace to many, but to us especially, and has already brought you so many places in this 1st year of life. It’s crazy to think that your first OF MANY kingdom builders trips was when you went to Sri Lanka with us at just 5 months (see picture with dad and chicken Joe at the Indian Ocean). We know that you have a massive calling on your life already, but know that your in-the-moment presence, hip hop dance breaks when Biggie is on the ads or playlist, and love for others will help you cherish each day you’re granted. We are so so so grateful you are in our lives, and cannot imagine a world that didn’t have you as a vital part of it. We love you! -Dada & Mama

There’s something powerful when we gather together. When we are able to take seats next to people from different backgrounds. When we are able to truly experience what the Body of Christ looks like. Together.

The church hasn’t had the best rep over the years but something we’ve learned is that the only way to show people what the church can look like, is to merely be it. To live differently. To be different. To remind people that it’s not about perfection, it’s about presence. And that it’s about a bunch of messy people showing up imperfectly, yet loving each other along the way.

Scripture says “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” You see, it’s not about pretending like we have perfect lives or carefully curated social media squares. No, it’s about having the willingness to show up for each other despite our differences. It’s about fanning each other’s flames, holding each other accountable, and feeling the pain someone else is experiencing even if it didn’t make you bleed. It’s about standing in the arena because there’s a war to be won and in the Kingdom of God, the loudest yell for love is a war cry.

The church as a whole is messy. And yet Christ died for it. Interesting how he died for something that’s so messed up and yet, as we look at ourselves in the mirror; each of us, in our different callings, countries, and characteristics - that that’s us. Because he knew we couldn’t do this thing called life alone, we’re better together even if and when it’s messy. Better together when we gather. Because wars, whether they’re in our heads, hearts, or in this world, aren’t won when we’re standing alone. They’re won when we’re together.

✨🇺🇸 Living a dream 🇺🇸✨

Nessa ultima semana eu vivi uma das experiências mais incríveis da minha vida que foi o retiro/treinamento do @qideas para jovens influenciadores cristãos aqui em Nashville nos Estados Unidos ♥️

3 coisas que aprendi nesses dias que quero compartilhar aqui com vocês:

1 - Você não está sozinha, tem muita gente pelo mundo que tem talentos e dons parecidos com os seus, fazendo o que você faz, esperando pra te encontrar.

2 - Quanto maior for a sua CORAGEM, maior a recompensa. Estar em outro país, ser a única brasileira do retiro me exigiu muita coragem, mas FOI A MELHOR VIAGEM DA VIDA, ou seja, vale a pena.

3 - Você precisa ir ATRÁS, você precisa orar, colocar diante do Senhor mas também AGIR.
Eu só estou aqui porque senti do Espírito Santo, orei, comecei a AGIR e Deus foi conectando pessoas até chegar esse convite.
Ou seja, as coisas não vão CAIR na sua porta, você precisa fazer a sua parte.
Você age no natural e Deus vem com o sobrenatural.

Mas o mais SOBRENATURAL de tudo eu ainda nem contei, vou contar no próximo post 🙈

I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed Q Ideas Next Gen East. Leaving more hopefully than ever about the future of the church after spending a few days with these young influencers. Bonus: Got to meet one of my favorite authors, @aliciabrittchole. Read Anonymous if you haven’t yet! Also, was reunited with one of my youth group buddies, @leoncecrump, after 20+ years who is a tremendous pastor and leader! God is good. #nextgeneast
