POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

A week ago Katie and Libby started off on their new adventures! We began the day with a sendoff lunch courtesy of Bounce Beach House where Katie had been working. It was so nice having everyone around the table one more time.

Once lunch was over, goodbyes were said as Steven could not go with us & we headed off to Alabama. Libby has settled in wonderfully to college. Her focus now is getting ready for volleyball season with 2x a day practice sessions. Classes start soon and then she will be managing a full course load, practices, and games. She is a hard worker and I know she will do great things!

On Sunday, we drove to Orlando to get Katie set up at her Disney internship. She checked in on Monday and got her room all set up in her dorm. The dorms have basketball courts, 2 pools & sand volleyball courts. There are activities every day of the week so they always have something to do on their off days. Tuesday through Thursday she had a hopper pass where she was able to go to all 4 of the Disney theme parks and have fun. She has become good friends with one of her roommates (from Oklahoma City) and they are having a blast! She started her training today!! In addition to working, she is signing up for all sorts of classes that will help her in her chosen career.

To say that I am proud of my girls is a complete understatement. They made this happen.

Libby wanted to play college level volleyball. Of course we supported her but she was the one that played club for 2 years, managed a heavy academic school load and worked. She was the one that contacted coaches, sent videos, emails and followed up with them.

Katie wanted this internship and so she put in the work. She did the research and worked on her interview skills with a good family friend so that she could be prepared for the interview. I know she is going to do wonderful things. She is excited that her first assignment is in Epcot!

I know my girls are where they are meant to be! They know how they’ve been raised and who they are. But I get the awesome privilege of watching them do what they love!!

Well we got another dog…thanks to @kathryn_hazewinkel_ !!!
I will admit I didn’t think it was going to work but once she cuddled up next to me I knew she was going to stay.

She has the floppiest ears and has no idea of personal space. Her fur is so soft and fits right next to you or on top of you..whichever she prefers at the moment.

Her name is Iris & she’s about 4 months old. 🐾🐾

Happy 24 years to us!! I can’t imagine doing life without @robh227 by my side. He’s my biggest supporter and fan! He keeps me calm when my world gets out of whack.

Is marriage hard…absolutely! But together we’re stronger and have built a pretty little life!

He’s the apple to my jacks; the Mac to my cheese and the peanut butter to my jelly.

A croquembouche is a classic French dessert made of cream-filled choux pastry puffs (profiteroles) stacked into a cone-shaped tower and held together with caramel.

This sweet girl @kathryn_hazewinkel_ @cookingwithkatiepearl made this at school! How cool! She envisioned it being 5ft tall (she wanted it to be as tall as she) but settled for a 2ft one.

Each pastry was filled with either whipped cream, maple whipped cream or a chocolate whipped cream. There were about 20 local chefs at her school yesterday and one commented that for her first try she did great!

Bien joué (Well done in French) Katie!

It was a great night watching some Ram soccer and it’s even better when @stevenhaze__10 scores! It’s hard to believe that in about 7 short months he will be graduating. So thankful for his time there and the friendships he’s made!

Look what @kathryn_hazewinkel_ @cookingwithkatiepearl made at school today!

A Biscoff Cheesecake with Biscoff whipped cream…all from scratch!

She is loving every minute of her training in Culinary Arts at GST. Just about every day she comes home with something made in class and you can tell from the smiles she is where she is meant to be!

PROUD MAMA MOMENT!!

🏊‍♂️This summer @stevenhaze__10 decided to start training for a triathlon. He jumped right in, got his bike & all the gear needed and began training.

🚴He did his first triathlon today-the Brett Robinson Alabama Coastal Triathlon with a good buddy from college.

🏃Not only was this their first triathlon the boys chose to do an Olympic distance which meant they had a 1500 meter swim followed by a 24.8 mile bike and then finished with a 6.2 mile run. They did fantastic and Steven even placed third in his age group! Even his Uncle Nate competed today and he placed too! These Hazewinkel men got some good genes😉

I am so proud of him! He will be finished with his undergraduate degree in May which means soccer will come to an end and I am so glad that he has found an activity that will keep him active. The triathlon community is very friendly and encouraging, and I’m sure he will be making many more new friends!

Steven…I am so very proud of you! You decided to do something new..something you’ve never done before! You planned it, executed it & finished strong! It was so fun watching you and cheering you on today!

I know all my kids probably think they are living their best life doing what they love but I think I have it even better because I get to watch them doing what they love!

When I was pregnant with all of my kids, I did what any mother would do and I prayed for safe delivery & that they would be happy and healthy. I prayed would stay close to the Lord, be kind and all the things.

But I also prayed that my children & our family would be close and that they (we)would enjoy being with each other.

Now don’t get me wrong, there were times that they were irritated that one of them would dare to breathe in the same room they were in but over the past several years I’ve seen my kids get closer. I’ve seen them laugh together, help each other out, defend and support each other. I’ve told my kids that friends will come and go, but your siblings will always be there. I’ve told them to protect each other and that in essence, you’re your own little gang and you need to back each other up.

Today these 3 took off to Nashville to spend a couple days up there and to go see Coldplay in concert. I’m excited for them as they get to spend some time together and create new memories. They are meeting some of Steven’s soccer lads up in the area and they have activities and restaurants that they want to try. I also told them to do absolutely nothing that would land them on a Jumbotron and become a virtual overnight sensation (unless it’s a good thing.)

Now go and have fun kids! ❤️
