She’s free.
And now we’re free to remember her, as she was in her lifetime — not in the decimated, Parkinson betrayed body that couldn’t speak or even swallow — the cruelest of diseases. Still, we’d talk and sing with our eyes, squeeze hands, laugh and cry.
Her voice. “The Marsh.” “The Jude”. The way she’d say your name. No one will ever say my name quite that way again.
The twinkle in her eye. The mischief. The rebel. The outlandish. The laughter. “PS — it’s deep.” The joy. The soirees. The Monte. The Marco. The Music.
Always The Music.
That’s where it began and ended. The Marsh was a brilliant songwriter. Soulful beyond.
The Marsh was a connector, my one degree of separation, and entrée to my creative life in Los Angeles. I am eternally grateful for every bit of it. And for the one and only Marsha Malamet.
I’ll remember you forever.
Fly, The Marsh. “May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.” #lovedontneedareason #marshamalamet💕 #songwriter #friendsforever
