“God may also lead you away from a relationship, situation, or employment. In our fear-based consciousness, we may attempt to ignore the instruction and stay where we are most comfortable, even if that comfort zone is pain. We stay because it’s familiar. We remain because we cannot see any other way, or we have accepted lack as our reality.”
Quoted from When God Leads…Just Follow

When I was first approached by the Founder/Executive Director/Producer of Black on Demand (BODTV), Swan Simpson, to host my own show, I almost went directly into ‘fear’ False Evidence Appearing Real mode! I began questioning my skills and why I had been selected from the countless possibilities!

HOWEVER, I had written When God Leads…Just Follow back in 2007. Why would I now question my good fortune?!?

I obviously impressed the network owner, and it was now my time to shine!

My advice when you get caught in a similar situation is trust the process.

Thank you @scryptkeeper for regathering the fam! Fire and Ink a set of gatherings for Black LGTBQ writers founded by beloved Lisa C. Moore was such a formative space, context and community for me. It is where I met my mentors and found my standards for brave community accountable brilliant writing! So it means so much to be included in this issue of POETRY along with a pantheon of Fire and Ink poets with a new work inspired by the painter Alma Thomas. How fitting that the issue’s cover is a garden book image. Gardens, in addition to space travel and the children in her life, were among her key inspirations. And to be on facing pages with my dear brother @pbw_poet ? 😍😍😍😍. I hope light years into the future if any consciousness remembers my work they will remember it in the context of this literary movement that helped make me imaginable to myself.💜

Honored to be on the advisory board of the rebirth of this important love stream @fireandinkwell go to the IG to learn more!
