FOLLOW ALONG! . Day ✌️ of stringing the hop yards and the crew found its rhythm very early on! If we keep up this pace we should finish up tomorrow 💪✨ . 📽️ As you can see, there are a bunch of moving parts to get the job done. From tying the strings to the top trellis wires, to staking those strings at the base of each plant! . 🚜 In just a few weeks the hops will start to grow quickly and then we'll train those little darlings to grow up the strings and by the 4th of July the plants will have fully grown to the top of the trellis! . Be sure to follow along as we take you from hop farm to glass this season 🌱🌞🍻

Each day I spend out of the big city(and also the small one) is brimming with adventure and discovery of even the smallest things. It has been inspirational to witness the life of a farm and a farming community, thru my own eyes, rather than a secondhand account. Deep down, I’m wrought with the insecurities of a city boy. Bugs buzzing by my ears freaks me out. My hands are soft. Lightning in the distance makes me nervous. Im constantly fighting my tendency to be a weenie in the country. However, learning a little about the life cycle of plants and soil composition. Having conversations with people that have led vastly different lives than myself, despite living only a couple hours away from where I grew up. Something so basic to the human-nature experience as a sunset, or a field of grass, bright yellow sunflowers given to me by children at the farm, or vast rows of pumpkins adorning tens of thousands of squash blossoms that have only come my way in styrofoam boxes wrapped in rubber bands. I can only hope that lying on the soft blades of grass, feeling pleased with myself as my belly sneaks out from the bottom of my shirt, reveals my deep appreciation of the good fortune I have working withand knowing great people and the sunny days we get to spend together. #summer #knowyourfarmer #photosynthesis #sunflower #squashblossom
