POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

🎨 It took Michael Borders 25 years to complete “Connecticut Industry,” a set of 8 massive panels tracing 400 years of the state’s history, from Native American settlements to modern manufacturing.

MoCA CT’s final 250th-anniversary exhibition runs through November 15 ... “06880” culture correspondent Robin Moyer Chung called it provocative and visually intense, and even went back for a second look to take it all in.

🀄️ Well, apparently I look a little different these days… 😂

I’ve been meaning to share this wonderful 06880 article about the incredible Mahjong boom happening right here in Westport and Fairfield County.

I was so happy to be interviewed for the story and to talk about what I love most about this game: the strategy, the beautiful (and sometimes VERY creative 😂) tiles, and especially the friendships and community that happen around the table.

And those lovely ladies pictured learning Mahjong? They ARE some of my students. The woman identified as “Michelle Sperry (left),” however, is decidedly NOT me. 😂 So consider this my official correction for the record!

Thank you to Robin Moyer Chung and 06880 for including me and for shining a light on this wonderful Mahjong community that just keeps growing.

And speaking of growing… there is a LOT happening at MahjON Gorgeous 💋 this fall: lessons, FREE Community Nights, Guided Play and our very first League!

Come join us at the table. 🀄️💗

Although this is not a great picture, I stand by the podcast this wonderful woman invited me on as one of her first guests. This is Robin Moyer Chung, host of Why the Hell Did I Write This, a new podcast she created where writers can share their work and the story behind the story. I am beyond thrilled and grateful to read my micro fiction ghost story “Dwell Time House,” which is quickly followed by my confession that it is only thinly veiled autobiography. Write what you know, right? Currently stretching this tale into a tv pilot, so I hope this is only the beginning.
