On 4th of September I did something I’ve been afraid of doing all my life- MY FIRST SOLO TRIP!

My chosen destination was Norway, a beautiful country I’ve been fascinated by for a while, and in 3 days I ended up visiting places I couldn’t even dream of seeing!

First evening and night were spent exploring Oslo. I walked around its nice sea area, tried some fun local street food, then did an easy hike to Ekebergparken. At the very top I discovered a fascinating view of the entire city during the sunset- and it took my breath away.

Next day was a big one, I travelled 2 hours by train to a station called Bø. There, I met up with my Norwegian friend whom I’ve only known before online. It was our first real-life meeting, and what an amazing person they were! Kind enough to take me on a roadtrip around Norway and show me some very cool places, like the incredible Heddal Stave Church and massive hydroelectric power stations in Notodden.

Highlight of the evening was meeting one of my favourite bands in the entire world- Leprous, and attending their concert with all 6 of my Norwegian friends! Before and afterwards I got to hang out with Robin Ognedal (@robinogn), one of my biggest guitar inspirations, he was sweet enough to let me try his guitar! I talked to Simen Børven about jazz and Norwegian universities, then had some very interesting conversations with Einar Solberg and Tor Oddmund Suhrke about Norwegian burgers. I also met Baard Kolstad and Harrison White!

On the last day of my stay, I returned to Oslo by bus and went on to explore the most unique and creative disctricts of the city. I visited vintage shops in Grünerløkka, saw some extremely cool street art around the Blå venue and completed a walk along the mesmerising Akerselva river. By 6 pm I was already on my way back to my hometown, Tallinn.

So this is the story of my first solo travel. There was so much more to it than this description has, but it would take me an eternity to tell you all about it. But to be able to discover myself on a whole new level, meet the amazing people of Norway and experience their culture, nature and music- Im extremely grateful for all of it.

Tusen takk, Norge!🇳🇴🫶🏻
