A lifetime achievement.
Over 6000 hours training Over 400 competition matches. A lifetime of memories.

When I found jiu jitsu I had no idea the impact it would have on my life. I found jiu jitsu in 2010. I was a complete mess. I gave up.
In 2014 I made it back, newly sober and looking for something healthy to do with my 5 year old son(@mookiewoodbjj). It gave me that and so much more. JIU JITSU SAVED MY LIFE.

I am so grateful for @lovatojrbjj for the years of guidance, mentorship, inspiration and brotherhood. He has built something extremely special and I’m so proud to represent him as a Black Belt.

@robinokc and our kids for always supporting me in this journey. The constant sacrifice of hard camps, having to deal with hangry Von, tired Von, sore Von, and doing so while always pushing me forward. My Why.

All of my training partners at @lovatobjjmma. I have made the most amazing friends and have a ton of brothers that have been through thick and thin with me on this journey.

I am so overwhelmed with gratitude and emotion. On to the next one!!!!

Today was my my sweet Sloaney Baloneys 9th bday. Ms Baloney is so sweet, curious, and oh so smart. She’s so much fun and loves her stuffies, squishys, Evie, Yoshi, and Emmy. As much as Sloaney is growing up, she will always be the baby. She is the most perfect little sister.

Can’t wait to see what new exciting things are next for Sloane. Love you to the moon and back baby! ❤️

Another Master Worlds Championship comes to a close. This one very bitter sweet falling just short of the ultimate goal picking up a 🥈 medal.

I had so much fun yesterday. Definitely reminded me of how much I love this.

Huge thanks to @robinokc who is always in this with me from the beginning to the end. She helps with all the food, the extra laundry, the hectic schedule and she does it with a smile and so much support.

My brother @stephenhurleyvickers, and my long time brother @fred_flanningham and his family for all the love and support yesterday as well as all my homies from @lovatobjjmma

@shilohrolls and @aryry_bjj for being in my corner and keeping the train on the tracks throughout the day.

Huge shoutout to @lovatojrbjj who is currently preparing for battle in Thailand. I am so grateful for him and the brutal comp training days during the tough times during a tournament.

Master Worlds ‘26
Competition week is here. Another successful camp in the books and the goal is the same as it’s been the last 10 times I’ve done this competition. 1st Place. World Champion.

This camp was extremely successful. I had to get creative and change up my schedule quite a bit as my kids are older, my work is more demanding, and life just being busier. Not getting to train in the evenings as much and having to do more mornings and lunch times. That being said, I worked as hard this year as I’ve ever worked and feel free to go out and put on the best performance I’ve ever given. At the end of the day, that’s what it’s about. Nutrition and strength and conditioning are on point and I can not wait to leave it all on the mat this week.

Huge thanks to my lovely wife @robinokc who works just as hard as I do this time of year. My brother @lovatojrbjj and @lovatobjjmma, @beboutrobert and @gabe_campbell at @lovatojjsouthside, @jacobstacyjj and the @okccombat guys, and every single one of my training partners over the last 9 months!

Had an amazing trip to compete at the IBJJF Pans this year. Got a nice little getaway with @robinokc and we enjoyed some delicious food and relaxing vibes. A great recharge for sure! 🔋

The competition was very strange. It was the first time I’ve ever had someone show up and then leave before competing. I’ve dealt with a lot of no shows but this was a first. I lost a really tough match to a tough opponent in the semifinals.

Not the medal I came for. But it’s the medal I got. Master Worlds prep starts now. ❤️🔥

I am lucky enough to be in a marriage where we celebrate our love for each other every single day. However, today is Valentine’s Day and I’m so glad @robinokc is my forever Valentine.
