A Line Story 👾

The Nose Drop
Top Ridgeline Drop with maximum exposure. You go disgustingly slow off of this with zero sight line.

Extreme exposure and you hope there’s no wind for this one 🚨

On scope day this one seemed like a good way to add some spice to the top of my line. Some digital help to put the scope day vision to 3D life.

THE BIG DOG

Feeling very proud to see this through from day 1. Calculated cowboy physics making this happen

First hit. With an added last minute brake to make @corbinselfe even more puckered 😌
47’ tip to tip.
28’ out 35’ down

After the fact we crunched some numbers and found out it would have probably rode better if the run in had been stacked higher. A flatter run in would have kept my bike more settled rather than feeling the compression while going off the take off.

“Big Drop” was the nickname before @_jarrodanderson_ graced us with his word poetry to make it the “Tool for every job”

Soggy digging brain means the Triple drop with a double at the bottom becomes the “Triple Double Crunch Wrap” from Taco Bell obvs

Natty meets bike park-esque berm. This one was from day 1 also, using the natural depressions and existing ledges I liked the look of dipping off the main ridge before linking up with Mikayla’s line again where we shared the double and back into the finish.

Honourable mention to the next few features; “Not a Hip Straight Jump”, “The TV star Bench”, and the infamous “Women In Sports Sydney Sweeney Hip Jump”

Until finals I had to navigate that this was the main walking path and where the hose was.

Desert art captured by @robinoneill

So much work & passion poured into these days on the mountain. I always come away from Rampage feeling so inspired by the shapes and their shapers 🙌

Hard to express what the heck just happened in Creekside. A long time coming for everyone involved.

My first year at WB, from within the Bike Park meeting I heard rumours of a new downhill track being flagged in Creekside with World Cup aspirations. That course was eventually etched in around 2021 with a big push to finish, at least the first section for an EWS stage in 2022. 2023 saw the first full iteration of 1199 during Crankworx for the Canadian Open DH. Which eventually lead to some re-worked sections based on rider feedback for the big show of the World Cup in 2026.

While it takes a village to put this on (and seriously thank you to everyone involved), I really want to thank @mitch__cols , @dokeyspoke and @omerdagan for driving the bus. The DH World Cup in Whistler wouldn’t have happened without them. A special shout out to all the Bike Park managers who prioritized working on 1199 over x amount of years: @finestonephoto @pringuette

We first shot 1199 back in 2021 with @robinoneill so it was fitting to bring her back to shoot the event. She’s been working with the bike park for over 15 years and I am forever grateful for her ability to bring the bike park to life through photo. Although @graeme.meiklejohn shot most of these photos on his phone :)

Ok enough from me we’ve got a ski movie to premiere in a week and a half.
