Hands in the air if you’d like to make hope normal again 💚. Let’s get Zack into parliament 🙌. Big love and thanks to @officialjassa @kevincarmodygreen @robins.n & @parissolemn for a wonderful canvassing session. If you’ve got any free time between now and the 8th of October to canvass, leaflet, or phone bank to get Zack elected - hit me up, and I’ll get you connected. So grateful to have a political home and family again after years of feeling let down and disenfranchised 💚 🏡. #greenparty #zackpolanski

Some of my favorite events during NY Climate Week: 1. The Garrison Institute “Moral Economies” gathering was a real treat and made me start the week fully inspired. From the Wellbeing Economy Movement to Bioregional Finance Facilities. Thanks for the invitation dear @sampownow - make yourself a favor and go read her new book on reimagining finance to regenerate our planet. I have recently joined the BioFi Project as an advisor and I cannot wait to see where this pioneering journey will take us! 2. Shandia Forum 2024 organized by the @globalalliancet placing Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities at the forefront of climate and biodiversity financing discussions. They’ve shared 7 principles for direct investment: “we are key actors; IP&LCs and our territories are inseparables; we know what is best for our territories; we can learn together; we have legitimate and strong community governance; we must have access to all the needed information to ensure our rights; we need sustained funding”. 3. Representing the @worldclimatefoundation in our 2-day events “World Climate Summit and World Biodiversity Summit” - a leading forum for Public-Private Partnerships alongside COP and Climate Weeks. Where we have the pleasure to turn the mic to change-makers and friends like @atossasoltani @peasdomingo ahead of the @amazonheadwater Alliance @earthshotprize 2024 finalists, always clapping for the shero @maria_netto, while working alongside a team of powerful and brilliant women🩵 @florabitancourt @missmatsi @isabelarahalsp 4. Gotta appreciate workshop formats! This one was on Financing the ‘Just’ in Just Transition promoted by @bcg where I had the pleasure to learn more about LSE’s Just Transition Finance Lab with Professor @robins.n and as a good alumni I’ve promised to visit 😊 5. The sought-after Nature Positive Hub rubbing shoulders with the biggest names in Nature Finance organized by Nature 4 Climate🌱 where I’ve participated on the Indigenous Economy investment round table - shoutout to Anna Lehmann, James Lloyd and Nimshani Khawe for creating multiple spaces for this urgent debate.

Finding Kinship > Visit the 'Resurgence & Ecologist' branch of our Linktree and find this in our #FREE to read articles (see bio). Issue 339 • July/August 2023 In this issue of Resurgence & Ecologist we explore the idea of becoming better kin and all the ways we might do that, including taking better care and more notice of the millions of invisible carers – young and older. We highlight a new literary prize that celebrates writing as respite for carers, and Satish Kumar invites us to think about our kinship with the one thing we all share, in his meditation on taking care of the Land. The Slow Read is by Chandran Nair, founder of the Global Institute for Tomorrow (GIFT). Nair suggests that nobody is entitled to disturb Nature in order to experience a sense of ‘awe’, and that not only is it high time to leave Nature alone, but the time has also come for an active, managed retreat. In our Ecologist pages Roman Goergen reports on a fascinating study by Canadian scientists who noticed a strong link between the distribution of different Indigenous languages and the distribution of genetically different grizzly bears, and in Connected Life we join self-proclaimed orchid outlaw Ben Jacob on one of his clandestine rescue forays. In Wisdom and Wellbeing we meet exuberant ‘rebel gardener’ @_spicymoustache_ to talk zero waste food production and indigenous urban gardening, and in Art & Culture Annie Warburton reviews Ai Weiwei’s current exhibition Making Sense at London’s @designmuseum. Highlights • The ocean and us: @farah_obaidullah • Planting in a changing climate: Charlotte Sterland • The ‘awe’ industry: Chandran Nair • A different kind of therapy: Anita Roy • The rebel gardener: Susan Clark • Unravelling the history of people and planet: Nick Robins Buy a copy of this issue > Visit the 'Order the latest print or digital issue' branch of our Linktree (see bio) Become a member and receive 6 issues a year > (see bio) Cover #Artwork: A Four Feather Walk by @fionamillaisartist #Kinship #Relationships #Kin #Relations #Nature #Land #Carer #Indigenous #Language #Wisdom #Wellbeing #Ecology #Gardening #ZeroWaste #Food #Art #Culture #Therapy #Ocean #Climate
