Looking back at a few wonderful moments from last weekend where The Dartmoor Cowboy made it’s U.K. Premiere at the fantastic @hollyshortslondon

Thank you for the festival team and to @londonflairpr for putting on such a great show. Playing to a fully packed house was such a rewarding experience, surrounded by inspiring films and filmmakers, and it was such a treat to share the moment with a few friends, cast and crew, some of who made the long trip from Devon just for the screening!

As Last Swim wraps up its UK cinema run, here’s a little collection of moments from the journey.

If you’re someone staring at a blank page right now, wondering how on earth your script is ever going to the screen — I’ve been there. So many times. It’s tough, it’s messy, and it can feel impossible. But if we managed to do it, you can too.

Keep writing. Keep finding people who believe in your story as much as you do. And just keep going, even if it’s one small step at a time.

As Mona tells Ziba in the film, “Nothing in this life is permanent, except a mother’s love for her child.”

Big love and thank you to everyone who came out to support the film.

That’s a wrap in Tupelo (and lots of areas around north Mississippi). Our lovely crew spanned from the UK to Tennessee, Alabama, and Mississippi of course.

Immense thanks to our cast and crew, our vendors, location owners, and all others who supported us.

Shooting on Dartmoor in December was a brave decision that we knew would deal us a few tricky cards - but part of the ambition was to feel, in some small way, the challenges of living and working on the moor with its ever-changing weather patterns.

Through the bitter cold, howling wind, and often sideways rain, we tried as best we could to keep the camera rolling - and sometimes ended up coming off second best!

Introducing our fantastic horse handler, Phil Heard of @dartmoorridingholidays

Based at Meldon Farm, Phil’s local knowledge and big heart were instrumental to our shooting plans, helping us navigate Dartmoor’s tricky terrain and constantly shifting weather conditions.

Fun Fact - Phil’s dad once bought cows from the real Ross Salmon and today, Phil and his wife Mandi continue to keep the cowboy spirit alive on Dartmoor, offering Western style riding adventures and cattle drives across the moor.

THANK YOU PHIL 🤠
